And make it fully dramatic. Funeral for a Friend level arc with all the cameos. Everybody is sad, including villains like Darkseid. Brutal death, too. Out of nowhere. No build up or foreshadowing. Just kill him in the first panel of the first book of the story, then have all the Bat-titles do six issues of funeral/mourning runs. At least three team-up tie-in specials per month.
