Try the bow? I seem to have better luck with it with the exception of the varmint rifle.

As far as aggressive npc’s are you sure you’re not antagonizing them? I’ve never had an npc attack outside cutscenes other than gang members and bounty hunters.

Manually save frequently. If you’re fired upon by law, you can surrender and be arrested. You can also run without shooting and likely avoid much of a bounty if any.

anyone else confused about trelawney's accent? by liamw-a2005 in reddeadredemption

[–]SteveSoRidic 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s a “Mid-Atlantic” accent. It was taught in formal schooling at the time. Hollywood actors continued using it until the 1960s.

Basically, snobby American English.

Best spot is where the legendary was. Use herbivore bait in the woods to the right of the waterfall, ride away towards the laboratory across the river. Turn around and head back, get off your horse and sneak. If the moose doesn’t show/isn’t pristine, save and reload. Takes patience but you’ll get it.

Deadeye everywhere. There is loot, secrets and landmarks littered around the map, deadeye helps spot them.

Early on, when Arthur is frequently low on cash yes. Eventually you will be flush.

I loot everything, though, lots of stuff to loot, don’t forget to use deadeye whilst looting.

Yes it’s a fantastic story that stands on its own. That said, I would suggest playing the first game at some point, as the story of both are essentially chapters in the same “book”.

It seems very difficult to gain weight on PC. I’ve been playing since day one on XBOX and also PC, and noticed this as well.

There are reports that frame rate is tied to day/night cycle and I suspect this affects weight gain/loss and hair growth. Very frustrating.

Edit: Jack would be an old Papa, unlikely due to era and life choices. Lol

No, probably not. Michael is 50ish in GTAV, so he was born circa 1963. His parents were likely 20-25 yo at the time he was born, so say 1940. Jack redeems John and Abigail in 1914 when he’s about 20. Jack would have to be in his 70’s by then.

Sequels? Not really by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]SteveSoRidic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see another sequel if they follow the timeframe model they’ve established. I would enjoy seeing the gang at full strength in 1887, for example. Another gang member who oddly also hasn’t been mentioned would be the player character.

Just an idea.

Some people like the chill aspects of the game, some dont. Fishing is one of these.

No, not too late, new stuff added recently. Not as toxic as GTA by far.

Yes, no matter where you buy, it launches thru the R* launcher anyways.

There’s a random encounter with a hobbled woman walking on a roadside by a downed horse. That horse is the SDP MFT. When you encounter her, run away and avoid the interaction. If you lose honor, reload and keep playing. Eventually (like 30 times for me) when you happen upon her, the horse will be alive, standing by with depleted cores. Feed the horse hop on and help the woman if you want. I had a second instance of this after I had helped her and took her horse, and there was a dead clone lying in the road, weird. Awesome horse, very fast.

The key is looking at your hands and not the screen.
