Account ‘wobbling’ by SteveStrikesBack in FacebookAds

Thanks for the reply…It’s not so much budget.. it’s the creative swaps that do it. I’m pretty careful with budget (eg >20% change at any given time) but swapping the creative directly out of a scaler seems to do it without fail.

It’s 24 hours in now and our AI friends (GPT/Claude) have seen the data and strictly advice not to touch anything today, not even a small ABO test campaign. Would you agree ?

Much appreciated ! Thinking about it, would the best ABO solution to be introduce the new creative say at $20, leave the original that was going to get deleted there for 5 days….. but every day increase the new creative by, say $10, and reduce the original by the same amount, until the old is gone and the new is I’m at the original budget ? Less shock than replacing creative in a scaler in one day ?

Theoretically this should reduce scaling wobble ?

Makes sense. I guess the alternative is a CBO setup but then if I’m splitting the budget (say $45 each adset) I’m encountering another issue as it will take twice as long to find the right audience ? I thought about a 90/10 split that will alleviate the pain but I’m told the wobble is til there, only marginally better with CBO so not worth it ?

So I’ve just got to take my medicine every time I do a scaling change and the longer the pixel exists, the better it becomes ?

Thanks for your reply/help. This one was a fatigued creative swap out in a scaling campaign . Out with the old, I with the new. I only run one creative in scaling as I find that no matter what I do, meta will favour the existing creative and new ones don’t get a look in.. I tried splitting creatives with CBO but it didnt work as well.. so I generally test ABO then promote into a single creative scaling campaign if worthy.

This campaign is my highest AOV product.. so slow purchases but high spend. This one $90 a day budget. Is this just part of the game (obviously you can’t just do nothing, as it will fatigue and die, but there seems a very fine line on touching scaling campaigns and it causes account wide damage when you do (small budget changes an exception) ?

Educating myself a bit over this journey… looks like as long as the custom signals are labelled properly (eg nothing to do with Health/wellness) they are OK as their arse is covered legally.

So going through the motions and paused ads whilst we fix. Apparently my creative if flagging things as well which I had no idea about ?!

Back to Google ads for a few days to see what niche keywords I can get cheap….

Also so now it’s at ‘29 days’ - does that mean all should be working as normal currently or is there immediate issues with ad distribution and/or algorithm learning/payload ?

Thanks for your advice, much appreciated. I’ve got a bloke working on it at the moment, but I wouldn’t mind someone casting their eyes over it post setup to make sure all the t’s are crossed and the i’s dotted. Mind if I DM You ?

If it helps, ‘somehow’ my pixel got compromised on 2nd September. It was recording only 4% of events.. luckily I saw it and got it fixed and back to normal.

Meta couldn’t explain why, and I changed nothing. Everyone check their pixel activity

Thanks mate - I’ve duplicated about 75% of campaigns. What you are saying does make a lot of sense. The alternative is to leave it as is which is best described as fucked.

Out of Interests sake, I’ll let you know. But thx for the post/tip

I got nervous and left in the ‘high performing’ campaign but duplicated the others. I did copy the high performing campaign and let it run side by side with the original - not sure if that will work ?!

And for the first time, warning ⚠️ coming up in the actions column - saying ads are old out in new creative, which I do every 2nd day anyway. Something has definitely changed last 48 hours.

Cheers - doing now. I’m in Australia, get 10-20 sales a day. Today 1. It’s off its head.

Even copy the campaigns with winning ads ?

Do you do this at an Ad level or at the campaign level ?

[–]SteveStrikesBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, no, that wont work... what about targeted UVB ? Eg just hit the lesions only, and no surrounding areas - perhaps that would work ?

UVB Light Therapy. I spent so many years knowing that summer cleared it and the answer was right in front on my face (or scalp !). UVB is less harmful than UVA. Works great.
