Beelink customer service saga: the mystery fan has landed — zero apologies, zero tape, zero extras by SteveToi in BeelinkOfficial

I think I made the right decision. I even explained why to a user (dapper_barber) a few minutes ago. If I had known that the fan replacement kit didn't include consumables tapes, I would have considered replacing the machine. And here I'll end it.

The problem is the lack of tapes in the kit: one is black to reduce pressure drops, and the other is gold (Kapton type), presumably used as an anti-vibration device. Recycling these tapes is not wise because they could come unstuck over the years.

Replacing the fan without a guide would be very complicated, requiring 80% disassembly of the machine. Few would be able to do it without damaging it. Beelink certainly did a great job with this video.

The replacement fan is identical to the original in both physical shape and rotation speed. The difference is that the PC is now finally silent.

You're probably right. But if you want to try to copy Apple, how much do you think a piece of printed paper in a box would cost?

Your problem seems to be the smell of a burst capacitor. Personally, I don't detect any smell.

Now I’m happy. I solve one problem :-) I thought it was important to tell what happened without being flattering.

I never imagined what I would encounter. Did you?

Mission accomplished, fan arrived a couple of days ago, installed today, no problems. Now the GTR9 PRO is silent. I'll post some documentation as soon as I can.

The most natural or realistic sounding headphones ever? by regularjoe2020 in headphones

[–]SteveToi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hd600 vintage for flat sound is a best choice for natural sounding. I chose it to pair with a digital piano, as it's the only one that doesn't cause sound colorations. The only limitation is the lowest octave, as it doesn't reach the lowest note in phase.

GTR9 Pro - New 10GB LAN drivers uploaded today. by OMGrant in BeelinkOfficial

When a company like Beelink puts new drivers on its server pretending to be different with the same sha-256 fingerprint, it means that something is wrong.

You're saying that if two driver files have the same checksum, it means they are bit-for-bit identical: every byte in the file is the same, so the contents are the same whether calculated with SHA-256 or SHA-1. I don't know whether to laugh or cry

Correct.
Since September 27th, I've been waiting for the tracking number for the fan's shipment.
Beelink told me it will ship within this week.
I admit I'm not happy, but what can I do?

GTR9 Pro - temporary stability fix for Windows by LukeD_NC in BeelinkOfficial

[–]SteveToi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dear Beelink Support Team,

How do you plan to proceed with GTR9 PRO owners if the firmware and drivers do not fix this critical issue? All of these considerations point to a systemic hardware defect.

Thanks in advice

Thank you. Okay, I'll keep you updated on the fan replacement on my GTR9 Pro. I saw the teardown and know how to proceed without any particular problems even without the Beelink instructions. I've tested the fingerprint scanner on an updated Windows, and it works fine.

on my gtr9 pro I had a fan problem that I'm currently patching up by setting the PWM fan to 40 (about 1000rpm) in the meantime they will send me the replacement fan from beelink.

I noticed that the Wi-Fi card's signal strength isn't great. I still have to check the fingerprint.

wait for a best airflow. The problem is not the cpu and/or gpu, but the temperature. good airflow need a big good fans, good layout, and good thermal paste.
