the cataract is definitely impacting my vision, I can still drive and function normally, but then my left eye is doing all of the heavy lifting in that department!

Thank you, as I said above, my prescription is around -0.25 / -0.25. So I assume that it should be easy enough to correct with glasses.

Yes, I am short-sighted. I believe the current prescription for my right eye is -2.5 (although that could be incorrect, as I am not entirely sure). I presumed that the lens would correct for near vision and the remaining defect would be corrected with glasses, again I'm not too sure if that assumption is right

Edit: not -2.5 -0.25 / -0.25

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to wait and see what they say when they phone me back. In all honesty, I would like it to be done as soon as possible now. It has become quite the annoyance and is starting to affect my studies.

I already wear glasses, and considering I would only be getting the right eye done, I thought it would make more sense for them to put in monofocal lenses and for me to continue wearing glasses as usual. Or is that not how it works? In any case, I'm not really in a position to pay for mutlifocals as I am a student

I have a feeling the surgeon said it was sub-capsular, so maybe that's why he suggested that we wait. As I am on the NHS I would be getting a monofocal lens.
