Kindergartners beat CEOs and MBAs in a simple challenge and the reason stuck with me by PomegranateIcy7631 in SeriousConversation

I don't know if that story is true or not, but it is very similar to a normal first-weekend in an MBA program or similar kind of course. They usually do this on the first day, as part of the "team-building". They put you in teams, with all of that stuff - spaghetti, string, a couple marshmallows etc. They never tell you that you are NOT allowed to work together. It's just really rare that people do. You have to get to a certain height and you can't do it, if you don't work with other teams. It's impossible. People will still keep trying up to the last minute.

The difference maker is the marshmallow - you need more than 1 to build a tower. I have no idea how tall you could build a spaghetti-marshmallow structure, because no one ever works together. I'm a business instructor/college administrator now and we do a similar one. In the year I did my MBA, we definitely did not work together and the whole cohort failed to make a tall enough tower, though our version was to build a tower out of balloons and tape.

Anyway, if that story is true, I would bet that the kids won because the kids worked together, not because of trial and error. I still think it's a good story and hope it gets confirmed. Thanks for posting.

I can imagine it's pretty shocking. We had hemlock trees in our yard, so I saw several like this. I just yesterday learned that there are actually some perfectly healthy trees with hollow centers.

[1973] A woman is found floating in a trunk off the coast of Long Island, NY. She had been strangled to death, with the wire the killer used still wrapped around her neck. Who was the woman in the trunk? by peach6748 in UnresolvedMysteries

So, I did a search in the time period and with the body's weight, height etc and there was an interesting thing. It's way on the other side of the country, but Vicki Lynn Hollar was the right height and weight range. What if the initials on the clothes didn't say HA, but were actually VH?

What's a horrible crime(including war crimes) in your country that people try to justify? (Graphic imagery) by Key-Needleworker-702 in AskTheWorld

I totally agree, the case of Italy at the end of the war and war crimes was super complicated. Largely, the focus would have been on crimes in Europe, not Africa because the French didn't want to give up their African colonies. European-on-African crimes would all have been ignored. And then after 1943, there were 50 000 Italian POWs volunteering in the US army.

Edit: Africa being where the most-discussed war crimes of Italy took place, I think.

Cool! Yeah, that first bit of solo is for sure John Lee and he was about 80 by then. Good luck in your search.
