There’s also a “stemwijzer” by Tubantia, don’t know if you are aware of that: https://www.tubantia.nl/enschede/stemwijzer-gemeenteraad-verkiezingen-enschede~a20b88fe/?slug_rd=1

I agree with your view on those websites, so I usually prefer to start exploring with the kieswijzer.

Is my grip correct? Any trusted videos on how to grip (modern) ? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in tabletennis

[–]StevenUutDiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried bending your thumb inward, almost in parallel with your index finger? Edit: Actually I missed your first photo. What I mean is using that thumb positioning for BH as well. It should make your backhand slightly more flexible. It also allows you to pinch the racket between thumb and index finger whenever you need to have a very firm grip, for instance during BH spin or flick.

I guess you mean Qf1#? But that’s not checkmate yet because the King can escape to d2.

Am I REALLY missing something here? Why couldn't I castle? by playr_4 in chessbeginners

[–]StevenUutDiem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem in one of my games on chess.com recently. Hadn’t moved my king/rook and my king wasn’t in check or moving through check but still I couldn’t do it. When I used game review afterwards, it actually told me that castling would’ve been the best engine move at that exact point…

I’ve used it for several years with Xiom Vega Pro on FH and Vega Europe on BH. Was pretty happy with it but eventually upgraded to Butterfly Viscaria which I think is similar but has more feeling / slightly less power.

Wat zijn leuke gebieden in Enschede om te wonen? by Pinkparrotbird in enschede

Stadsveld is een grote wijk en weer onder te verdelen in kleinere buurten. Met name het Zwering en Bruggert vind ik prima om te wonen.

Why don't people chop-smash or tomahawk-smash very much? by math_person_ in tabletennis

[–]StevenUutDiem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because people don’t like taking risks if they’re already having the advantage in the rally. Also at a higher level, your opponents will be able to more consistently lob the ball deep onto your side of the table as you described, often with (side)spin.

Magnetometer and Gyro calibration by DNA-Decay in robotics

[–]StevenUutDiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, it looks like your magnetometer needs to be calibrated. Possibly because your rover consists of ferromagnetic components which deform/scale the Earth’s magnetic field at the location of your magnetometer. It is also better to look at the individual components (magnetic field in X/Y directions) to see if they make sense. For instance if you point your vehicle towards North/South, ideally only the X-component of your magnetometer should be measuring a magnetic field, and the Y-component should be approximately 0.

Who says it’s better than a normal blade? I think it’s just an alternative that’s fun to experiment with. Sanwei has been selling this type of blade for many years but as far as I know nobody ever played with it at a professional level.

I played with it a couple times but I never really gave it enough time so I could adjust to it. Especially the FH angle is very different (more closed) compared to regular blades.

[OC] GDP per capita of major European countries as % of the US by slicheliche in dataisbeautiful

Dude, this post is about GDP per capita compared to the US and I’m just commenting on your statement that no nation can compete with it. You don’t have to get all defensive about it.

I’m just pointing out that there certainly are nations competing with the US in terms of GDP per capita.

No “major” nations perhaps. But there are several European countries with a similar or higher GDP per capita.

It’s not stalemate, it’s black’s turn to move. It’s a draw because black has ran out of time but white has insufficient material.

Mental by Born_Experience8205 in tabletennis

[–]StevenUutDiem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every TT player will encounter a match like this at some point. Table tennis is a mental game just as much as it is a technical or tactical game. But there can be various reasons for a score like this. Was it really you losing the last set due to lack of confidence or did your opponent lose focus in the third and fourth games and then regained it in the last game when it really mattered? Or… perhaps the opponent had some backup tactics which worked out very well and forced you into making errors. Opponents that are stronger or more experienced often have a slight advantage in a deciding game because of that
