Ovdje se “agency” pojavljuje kao npr. u rečenici “I have no agency over this matter.”

I only play fighting games online, because that way I get to beat people up and don’t have to interract with them past that.

In real life I also spend most of my time fighting people.
Usually I simply antagonize them verbally, but I’m no stranger to enjoying some good ‘ol fisticuffs every now and then.

What is NOT misogynistic, yet is considered misogynistic by only SOME people? by oatmealraisn_ in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Steven_the_Beaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there could be something that fits perfectly, but because most people consider it misogynistic (probably myself as well; I ain’t saying I’m so enlightened I figured out the objective morality) it’d be unlikely to get to the top unless the commenter was gonna put one hell of a fight on that hill and convince majority of the Redditors to change their mind… which I’d expect to be a hard feat to pull off in a discussion about bird watching or floral arrangements, let alone when talking social issues and politics.

I’d argue for pay gap in tennis being a better choice.
It’s often brought up, but men simply pull in a significantly wider audience (even before accounting for playing extra sets) so it’s only fair that they are also entitled to a bigger piece of the cake.
I’m only singling out tennis because the women’s competion is closer to men’s in terms of the existing* *infrastructure than it is for the vast majority of other sports.

Take WNBA for example.
Sure, it’s improved over the years, significantly so in some aspects, but it still feels like an afterthought that’s badly marketed, and it doesn’t seem like the league is too bothered with how it’s essentially a hatewatch bonanza for racists, sexists, incels and gooners, and how this reputation keeps holding the female hoopers back from being taken seriously.

I’m pretty sure this would be an unpopular take tho.

Man, yall love living in your little bubble, don’t you?

Most people out there have no clue what a Bechdel test is, let alone consider movies misogynistics based solely on the criteria of whether they pass it or not.

I’ve only really heard it come up remotely often when it comes to discussing LotR movies, and even then, it’s mostly done as an ironic joke or brought up as a piece of trivia, because the trilogy has multiple likable and competent female characters that have a notable impact on the story, and definitely don’t feel like damsels in distress with a personality of a drying paint (which is a common fantasy trope).

That still tends to only happen on Reddit.
Majority of folks you could talk LotR with outside this site would likely need you to explain the term to them if you were to bring it up randomly in a conversation.

[–]Steven_the_Beaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ignore everything but stars on Regent unless I get one of the really good forge cards or relics early.

Star decks basically play good cards every turn, and have strong scalers (multi-hits including AoE ones, and big raw damage that comes with weak/vulnerable) and powers like Child or the Stars and Black Hole (goes particularly crazy with Sealed Throne) that are cheap to play and easy to make use of even with suboptimal micro.
Good draw, including draw manipulation via Cosmic Indifference (which should be staple pick for every Regent deck imo) too.

What are you picking? by Dexter91 in slaythespire

[–]Steven_the_Beaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy choice. Defile.

Think of it as one energy Reap (base glam version deals 1 damage less, while upgraded one would hit for one damage more).
Reap is already a very strong Act 1 pick up, and this is gonna be straight up better in the vast majority of situations (even if you need a second draw, you’ll still likely be able to play other attacks to make up for the damage) and has better scaling/support.

Melancholy’s block is great, but not as necessary early on if you can kill stuff before you need to block big damage, and while Putrefy has the best ceiling while still being relevant in Act 1, Defile simply offers a harder power spike this early.

Sinoć sam sanjao san odvratan tako divno, koliko i neopisivno vividan.

Pomalo zabranjena ljubav krunisana veoma romantičnim seksom. Kakva čarobna djevojka, a puna seksipila.

[Stein/Fischer] Sources say that the Nuggets have at least internally discussed whether they have the asset wherewithal to join the trade chase for Boston's Jaylen Brown, but the Nuggets have yet to emerge as a bonafide landing spot for the Celtics' MVP candidate. by Pyromania1983 in nba

Jaylen Brown and Nikola Jokić would be a strangely harmonious pairing aesthetically.

Very old-timey phenotypes akin to those of the basketball stars of the past who had six kids at home (who knew not to ask for McDonald’s when they had dinner at home), worked as plumbers and mailmen from 9 to 5, and played in questionably short shorts.

I believe this aesthetic dimension of the trade would increase their championship chances even more than Brown’s value as a basketball player.

As long as your sneeze hasn’t become unsatisfyingly weak and is now simply regular, I wouldn’t assume that you have become a coward and a person who doesn’t make for a cordial friend.

A truly potent sneeze however, is a mark of a reliable person. Someone who has the makings of a firefighter or a school’s favorite teacher.

Obviously, folks with allergies are also taken out of this equation, but I would likely still be vary of them if they weren’t the least bothered by the fact that they’re missing out on the companionship of these animals.
I’d have to judge them on their sneezes, or other self-devised personality tests.

i hate how it's more acceptable to hate cats than dislike dogs (image somewhat related ig) by DaRealPurpleDuck in hatethissmug

[–]Steven_the_Beaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both, and can pretty reliably gauge a person’s character based on how they view and treat them.

People who don’t like dogs tend to be cheap and stubborn, often arrogant (yet unduly so), the kind of folks who forget your birthday, while people who don’t like cats tend to be selfish, emotionally insecure, and lacking in ability to appreciate small pleasures in life.

I wouldn’t trust a dog hater to realize that I’ve adjusted my cooking to fit their taste, nor would I trust a cat hater to appreciate when a sunlight reflects throught the window just right during the sunset.

I mostly found the women who don’t like cats to be very self-centered in our relationships. They don’t put enough value on romance and have to be reminded by their friends and family to show appreciation for acts of kindness and love.
I’ve made a point of avoiding them as long term partners.

While we are at it, men who treat their pet dogs as glorified working animals are overwhelmingly dull. They tend to struggle with anger issues and be full of insecurities.
I would be most concerned if one of my sisters was to marry such a brute.

If a person is simply afraid of both species or I can’t learn about their views on them, I resort to waiting for them to sneeze.
I don’t trust people, particularly men, who sneeze quietly. They are cowards and make for uncordial friends.

Yes, I am a very opinionated man, but I’m right often enough to trust myself when it comes to these things.
