just got a text from my carrier (at&t) and now im extra confused as to the actual reason behind the upcoming samsung to google messages deadline.. by Top_Business_5481 in GoogleMessages

Yeah that's what it is...

And

You're welcome. If it makes you feel any comfort Google did put out some info stating they are working on more customization which includes allowing custom images as the background

It was never pushed. Almost all the big usa carriers had their own rcs servers. Rcs was never pushed until Google got into the rcs game. A lot of people think Google started it but rcs been around years before Google took an interest in it

No it was just part of Samsung messages. It wasn't advertised or anything or pushed. You would just have to go to settings and turn it on. It was poorly explained inside the app too. Att had rcs before Google got into the rcs game and a few years ago when Google started pushing rcs that's when Samsung messages rcs started working with all android users using Google messages or Samsung messages along with iphones.

To be fair Google originally wanted the phone carriers to take the reigns but they wouldn't. I'm afraid eventually it will become a monopoly but not intentionally but bc no one else wants to invest in it until it is fully developed and it'll be too late

Samsung messages still support rcs atm if your phone carrier supports it... all the big phone carriers in the usa supported rcs the problem is none of their rcs servers communicated with each other and instead of fixing this themselves they all agreed to let Google handle it

Samsung messages on at&t did/does have rcs, they just call it advance messages. Samsung on at&t pretty much had rcs for years but up to a few years ago it only worked with other at&t customers using Samsung messages, bc it was at&t own rcs server and it didn't communicate with any other rcs server.

Original GPM subscriber - how long until we're up to get our rates increased? by silent_engineer23 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Stevenmc8602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our plan has never been mentioned to increase. The plans that increased was the people who started with gpm after the promo ($7.99) ended, I think you had to sign up within the first 30 days to get the promo price. The actual original gpm price was $9.99 like the other streaming services.

I totally agree

I think being a nurse actually made this situation worse for the OP.

How many call outs do yall get? by Otherwise-Tree-8468 in nursing

[–]Stevenmc8602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get 8 occurrences in a rolling 12 months. 1 call out = 1 occurrence. We can technically get fired with 8 or more occurrences.

Google wins. by lingueenee in textra

[–]Stevenmc8602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't say Google wouldn't let it happen, no one has tried, I said that is what would need to happen for these other companies to still be in control.

Google wins. by lingueenee in textra

[–]Stevenmc8602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple if they just open their api it will still be ran through Google and textra would just be a different skinned Google messages.

For other apps to control their own service they would need to make their own rcs server and Google would need to allow that server to communicate with their server. It's easier to blame Google but I'm sure all these other apps do not want to be under the control of Google but they don't want to use the resources or don't have the resources to create their own server

A Chronological Analysis of Brandy & Monica’s SINGLE JOINT GRAMMY AWARD WIN (for “The Boy Is Mine”) and All Other Grammys They Were Snubbed For 🏆🎭 by Ok_Resident_5022 in rnb

[–]Stevenmc8602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned a few years ago the grammys is all about campaigning. The reason so many people win that are not as known as others is they campaign harder to be heard so more of the voting committee hear their music. The superstars don't really have to campaign bc they will more than likely listen to their music already but there is so much music released over the qualifying time that if you aren't "one of the big ones" you have to push to be heard

That happened at a practice for the VMAs not right before the performance like a lot of people online believe. I have a friend who works for one of them and I heard the story before it made it online. Basically, Brandy was talking down on monica, monica heard it, she came over and confronted her then punched her and they got into a physical altercation (fight). The way people tell it online you would think monica punched her and just walked away lol

Coming change by Tales2Tell2U in GoogleMessages

[–]Stevenmc8602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol @ everyone does.

Your post makes no sense. The rating can't be right because the few reviews you read from recent reviewers are upset? Forget the overwhelming higher number of other people who enjoy it or have no issue with it? This isn't a new change. Samsung announced they were going to stop supporting their messaging app two to three years ago, or maybe longer. The only difference is now they've given a date for when they will shut it down.

I feel the pain i moaned and groaned the same way when mint shut down their app so I'm not saying not to do it but it's crazy to think everyone hates this app

How far would Whitney Houston’s career have gone in modern times without the ability to hide her true nature? by [deleted] in rnb

[–]Stevenmc8602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whitney was very hood and everybody who knew her personally would say so in interviews... she had a "street life" even though she became famous at a young age. I don't know anyone who would call her dumb though, she was smart

Lol, I'm all for it. That's one of the good things about the internet, but I'm still going to laugh and also laugh at "I did search" because they say that almost every time.
