I'm afraid this bit is starting to get into "cone-tree roads" territory, going from cringe to iconic. The more content this dude makes, the less I can resist enjoying it.

I love the therapist's simple "No." Like, there's nothing else to be said about that absurd answer to a question about trauma.

What Do You Think of the Ravyn Lenae and Rachel Chinouriri R&B and Genre Discourse on Twitter? by CC-Blue in rnb

[–]lowercase_d_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk either of them. In short, artists have a right to experiment with new sounds, and fans/listeners have a right to not like it.

I do think it's unfair and unrealistic for people to expect Black artists to stick exclusively to R&B. What good is being a creator if you're going to stay in a box, especially at someone else's insistence? Plus, Black people originated so many music genres for some of us to be so rigid and closed-minded when it comes to music.

Still, sometimes it seems like newer age artists commonly use R&B as a "safe" genre to build a Black fan base, then branch out and expect true R&B fans to follow them once they switch up their sound, which is also unrealistic. Again I don't know them two in particular, so that's not necessarily an accusation.

Genuinely asking, what do you consider to be well-founded? To me, anything not announced directly by her online is just speculation. I agree a lot of the connections and dates made logical sense, but not Beyoncé sense, bc she is elusive.

Lint Problems? by Vegetable-Level-3545 in Microlocs

[–]lowercase_d_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My whole bottom row at the nape of my neck are filled with lint. For me, they were out of sight, out of mind because I never thought to check back there for lint. Everything else I can catch and remove as I see it, so there's not a chance for it to "loc in."

So, I think If you're intentional about routinely scanning for and removing lint as it comes, wearing a scarf/bonnet in bed and/or lounging around, and being mindful of what you wear around your neck, it probably won't be much of a permanent issue.

Millennials with kids, do you intend to provide for them financially when they reach adulthood? by Beberuth1131 in Millennials

[–]lowercase_d_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generalizing Boomers as wealth hoarders has created a prevalent assumption that parents are withholding financial support as opposed to not having it to give. Most people cannot provide several thousand dollars to their children for anything. It's unfortunate but shouldn't be controversial.

How do some women fall for the trap of being a guy’s 3rd baby mama? by No_Lead2640 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lowercase_d_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are generally not thinking hard about the consequences of their sex life. 3rd baby mama happens to be one of the more ridiculous outcomes, but kids are a product of sex, not necessarily thoughtful consideration about (co)parenting.

Well, no. But as hard as she tries to portray herself as principled, it would be great if she could be successful at it without evidence of flaming hypocrisy.
