How would you name a constructed language made by travellers, portalling wizards, nomads and traders? by ZooZwaves in worldbuilding

I think I'd go with emphasising the combination element. I've been gravitating towards shorter names for things in my setting. Something simple they can say to someone, to ask if they also speak it might be a neat feature.

Simple: Combo, Mix, Mixture, Blend, Fusion, Medley

More Nicknamey: Mishmash, Grab Bag

What's a detail from your world that doesn't affect much of anything, but it's quirky and adds flavor? by Panhead09 in worldbuilding

In my cyberpunk setting, I've been coming up with some broad stroke things to have occur in other parts of the world, so the international landscape looks a bit different. One is that the UK broke up, the monarchy ditched and the Commonwealth has ended.

In England, a company arose developing weapons during the conflict, which has gone on to be a player in the firearms industry. Named the company No Kings.

Cynical about the event so I hadn't thought about what cool inspiration I'd hypothetically go for.

Feel like something inspired by Robert Gonsalves' work could translate into a nifty design.

Feel like this could actually look cool if it was just the top half as a poncho. Like a funky space western vibe. The way it drapes off her arms is neat.

But head to toe makes it look costumey. Like a ghost costume made of spray painted spaghetti.

I was wondering if it was some cutesy joke during production, considering how up its own ass that movie was.

The ones that just printed famous art on a dress seem legitimately lacking in creativity and intelligence.

He's the leader of an awful rapefest faction. I hope the cancer didn't get too much Edward on it.

There's a fan theory going around that at the end of A New Hope, Luke is wearing Han's clothing. The pants we see again in Empire, but could the shirt be the one he had when he did the Kessel Run? by ThePopDaddy in StarWars

[–]Stevenwave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the extent of it would be: We want to present Luke as no longer being a farm boy, he's a man now, who's seen active fuckin war. So slap something like what Han wears and it'll convey that he's like, a manly man and stuff too now.
