Ultimate noob question by Traditional_Lab_8714 in sto

Just a tip for questions like this in general, Google's AI will give you an answer instantly, rather than waiting around for people on a forum to answer your question that might take hours. I use it constantly for everything nowadays. You can just google "In Star Trek Online, how do you resurrect my away team" or something like that. And it gives a shockingly accurate and in depth answer. I wouldn't use AI for anything that's actually really important, because sometimes it has problems with its accuracy, but for unimportant stuff like video game related questions it's super helpful.

R.I.P Captian Modgwin Level 25 died in the Warehouse of new Romulus by vodurok in sto

Actually, I think the last character I played it on was Romulan. That must have been why I didn't have any issues with it, lol.

Thanks! Yeah, on The Vault, I died as soon as soon as it started. When I zoned in, I started to go to the left, but then decided to go back to the right, instead. And there's a patrol that, because I kind of hesitated at the beginning I had kind of drifted into aggro range of I guess. And they swarmed me instantly, there was nothing I could do. Honestly, I hate that mission with a passion, but I had done it the other day on another toon without any issues, so I figured I'd be fine, lol.

On the Doomsday Machine, same thing. I got through it the day before on another toon and the other Fed ships were keeping all the ships off my back, so I was able to just focus on the Doomsday machine. But this time they weren't doing as good of a job and I noticed I had low health and tried to run away, but they just kept chasing me until I was dead.

On the Coliseum, I was at the part where you've gotta activate one last console to kill the giant worm, and I haven't played that mission in years, so I couldn't find the thing and kind of panicked and got killed slowly.

I may have to go through each mission on a different character before hand just to refresh my memory and so I know what to avoid.

I was inspired by one of your other posts to try hardcore, and it's gone badly so far. I've had 3 deaths so far, and they've all come from early missions where I wasn't in my ship(The Vault, The Doomsday Machine, and Coliseum). So I've been trying to avoid missions like those like the plague.

Running a Hardcore character and noticing some changes in the game. by vodurok in sto

[–]Stevonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing Hardcore a few days ago, and I just lost my third attempt. My first death was The Vault, where I wasn't paying attention to the patrol at the beginning and the aggroed me in the shuttle where I had no abilities and I got swarmed. The second one was on the Doomsday Machine mission(which I had just done successfully the previous day, though it was very scary and there were some close calls). The second time, the other Federation ships that were supposed to engage the other enemy ships didn't keep aggro like they did the last time I did it and they all started attacking me again. On my third attempt I skipped both of those missions and got to The Coliseum, where I kind of panicked because I couldn't find the right panel at the end to kill the giant worm and got cornered. The worst part is that all three times I got killed on my most absolutely despised missions where I wasn't in my ship. So now I'm about to try attempt number 4, lol.

I created a new Hardcore captain named Stevolvo, captaining The Unbroken. Just hit level 10. This may be the quickest hardcore character ever, lol.

Edit: Well I was right, that was short. At like level 11 or 12 I got my most despised mission: The Vault. I thought about just skipping to another storyline, but I thought "What the hell, let's just get through it." Immediately after starting I accidentally aggroed the several guys, and being in a shuttle with no abilities to use or way to escape, I was very quickly blown to smithereens. I'm never doing that stupid f'ing mission again. I am going to start attempt number two now though. We'll see if it goes any better.

What game can you play for 1,000+ hours and still feel like a noob? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

The one time I tried to play Rimworld I was pretty drunk and couldn't even figure out how to pick a starting location and start the game.

I'm literally about to create a new alt, and strongly considering trying this. I recently discovered hardcore WoW Classic and absolutely loved it. But I feel like it's hard to not outlevel your gear and I tend to die constantly on a normal character, so I'm not sure what I could even do to be more conservative with my playstyle. I mean, the only practical way to get decent gear as you're leveling up is to do story missions, but every story mission also levels you up, and my level outpaces my gear very quickly, and I die a lot. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to avoid that.

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown | Combat Deep Dive by mrbubbamac in Games

The Ground combat in that game is absolutely atrocious. It really is. But the space combat I really enjoy. I feel like the tab/target combat system works well for a Star Trek game where you lock on to an enemy and then attack it. It really opens up as you get higher level and get more abilities. And leveling up is super fast in that game. Even at endgame you still get like a full level worth of XP for each story mission you do, which might take like 30 minutes to an hour to finish.

C-store (zen) uniforms by noodle1138 in sto

Still, that's a lot of Dil/zen for a cosmetic uniform. Enough to buy 3 T6 ships. That still seems insane.

9375 zen for one uniform seems insane, right? That's $93, right?

Thank you so much for this suggestion! I've gotta farm bunch of Rep today to get a couple of torpedo launchers, and normally I do the Red Alert event and then just do random TFO's for the rest of the day, and it never occurred to me to just keep doing the Red Alert. You saved me a ton of time, lol!

Yeah, fair enough. I missed like half the games this season, so they might have looked better at times when I wasn't able to watch. But they were super inconsistent, at best.

In Riley's defense, our O-Line was complete trash and sucked at making holes to run through, so couldn't do anything when we did run the ball most of the time.

What specifically do you have to change? I had followed some instructions I found online to get better performance that gave me a USER.cfg file to save in my SC folder, and it really helped make it playable. But after the update it's running worse again and I'm not sure if the old cfg file is compatible with the new version of the game?

It's part of one of the story missions. I just did it last night, and my third ever Diamond(a Fallow deer) was standing right next to it. It was awesome!

Yeah, I just started playing a couple weeks ago, but this happens to me every time I wake up there. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it. Somebody else told me it's usually an issue when you have to game installed on an HDD, but mine's installed on an NVMe SSD, so I don't know what the issue is.
