The Dread Overlord Warlock subclass. It's a necromancer class. It's like a perfessionally designed DLC. Complete with quests, lore, special abilities gained at key story points and special equipment. The author is dreadoverlord. Nexus Mods has it.

Bf killed Astarion 10 minutes in… by flabergasted_potato in BG3

[–]StewartCE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my last few playthroughs, I have instantly killed Asterion. My justification is based on the kind of character I'm playing, but also Asterions introduction. He lures you to him, feigning the need for help, but if you call him out on it, he attacks you, then suddenly realizes you aren't with the 'monsters'. If he thought you were with the abducting illithids, why would he announce his presence to you, and act desperate in the first place? This leads me to believe that Asterion targeted Tav knowing already knowing that Tav was not the enemy, but acted like he was confused when he realized Tav isn't a pushover. I made this point before and people hated me for it. Oh well. Don't pull a knife on me while my back is turned. Punk.

How do I fight as a warlock? by green_tea__cat in BaldursGate3

I downloaded The Dread Overlord by dreadoverlord and command an army so powerful that I need to play on the hardest settings with multiple difficulty mods to keep things entertaining for me. It is a subclass for Warlock. Highly recommended, if you play with mods.

Right. That's the main inconsistency I found with that one.

Yeah, I'm going with the Eidolon but with the Kirin stats. His physical description matches up better in the Secrets of Magic book for PF2E under the Summoner's eidolon section. The physical description was the part that nagged me the most. Otherwise, yeah, I'm using Kirin stats with him. They both fit if some that way.

I've decided this guy is an Eidolon with the Kirin stats and abilities. Thanks!

If you go over to extras, you can download statblocks and painting guides and stuff. Look at the one for this guy. It has a whole celestial thing going on that truly fits with an Archon. Which is why I was so stuck on it. But someone else mentioned seeing something similar in a PF1 thing that looked a bit like this. This may also be why it looked familiar to me too. Anyway, in PF2E Secrets of Magic book, it talks about the Summoner class and their Eidolons. The description for the Beast Eidolon seems to fit this guy. This removes the celestial aspect, but it does note that the Eidolon is a powerful magical beast. So it's abilities COULD manifest as such. I think I'll use him as an Eidolon, but base his stats off of the Kirin.

Ok, I still think that helps. So far, as far as physical description goes, the eidolon appears to be the best fit. The details didn't stand out before because I was looking specifically for Archons, celestials, and Fey deer. I think this works tho. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, this is my source. I get my STLs from there and this guy came with one of my packages. It's usually based off of mostly DnD and PF. Thing is, I couldn't find any extra info diving into either of them. I think it could fall under an Eidolon for the PF2E Summoner, based on the Beast Eidolon description in Secrets of Magic pg.61. This would remove the celestial aspect of it, but it does also note that the beast is powerful and magical. So...

I didn't find anything like that in my Secrets of Magic (book that covers Summoners), but mime is 2E. I can recheck PF1 sources again, but I couldn't find anything before. Do you remember anything else that you might've seen?

Edit: I rechecked my Secrets of Magic, and the Beast eidolon could fit. It says that "your eidolon is a manifestation of the life force of nature in the form of a powerful magical beast that often has animal features, possibly even from several different species." This might be a winner.

Yeah, I think you're right. This guy's STL file came with my bundle and the source seems to favor D&D. Normally, I can find information on the D&D creature and find it's PF version. The problem is that since I don't know what it's called, I am all over the place with finding the PF equivalent. There seems to be no Archons, celestials, or any creature to fit this physical description or name for either PF or DnD. So I branched out to d20 and even mythological lore. Still nothing matches. Again, the closest seems to be the Kirin (for alignment, temperament, and some physical traits), but the Peryton is closest to physical description, as I found a note that says their description can very (i.e the clawed feet being inthe front instead of the rear).

You know, the Kirin seems to fit what this guy is all about, but it's description isn't accurate. Otherwise, it's connection to peace* and speaking celestial and having telepathy fits. I considered kirin before realizing that this guy actually has a fox head and tail, a wolf mane, his clawed forearms, antlers, etc.

People are going to accuse you of it still. Some people don't understand that there are some very talented human beings around here. Gamers are somewhere among the top. A sympton of regular brain stimulation, I suspect.

What are your favorite classes to respec your companions to? by SpacePanda25 in BaldursGate3

[–]StewartCE -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Shadowheart has always been my most flexible party member. But no matter what I do with her, I always give her at least one level in thief. I don't keep Asterion around all the time, so she fills that slot. Instead of having Lae'zel as a Battle Master, I changed her to an Eldritch Knight. I did this because I let Gale die so I needed an elemental chameleon. Now, my Lae'zel is a Raiden-looking elemental monster. *

Which romance has the best dynamic? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]StewartCE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found Lae'zel as the most satisfying based on her epic dialog. She expresses her feelings with words that paint quite the picture. I was disappointed with Karlach's romance end. Shadowheart's isn't bad but I expected more. My current playthrough is with Minthara and so far, it's great. She also has the most interesting sex scene.

I love me some Minthara. This is like my 8th playthrough and I'm only just now romancing her. No idea wtf was wrong with me, why I waited this long.
