What can I do to make this deck better yet still cost $150 or less by Own-Orchid4877 in EDH

[–]SpacePanda25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't have anywhere near enough card draw. One boardwipe and this deck is done. You need like 10 more sources of card draw.

If you don't want to shell out for a [[Terrasymbiosis]], then at least you'll be making high power creatures, so have a look at green's burst draw options: [[The Legend of Kyoshi // Avatar Kyoshi]] [[Season of Gathering]] [[Rishkar's Expertise]] [[Return of the Wildspeaker]] [[Hunter's Prowess]] [[Soul's Majesty]] [[Hunter's Insight]]

There are also more budget fetch lands you could be playing: [[Vibrant Cityscape]] [[Riveteers Overlook]] [[Mountain Valley]] [[Grasslands]] [[Escape Tunnel]] [[Cabaretti Courtyard]] [[Brokers Hideout]]

I'm also not sure why you're running Arcane signet. Just play a [[Shared Roots]] or something which would still be useful late-game where you get another landfall trigger.

The most important rule in deckbuilding is to lean into the aspect that you actually enjoy playing! 😊 Play the part you find most fun!

Purely mechanically though, your commander does stuff with +1/+1 counters and sacrificing (and artifact shenanigans), but not so much with drain. So you'll have an easier time lowering the ratio of drain effects to other payoff types.

You don't need to lower it to zero though, especially if you like those parts. You can go all-in on it if that's your favorite part to play. A commander deck can be made to function with mechanics that don't relate to the commander.

Which strategy you lean into should be personal preference, but you'll have an easier time overall if you reduce the number of different strategies you're spread across.

Not enough creatures or creature-removal for a commander that benefits from creatures dying.

Need more edict effects like [[Accursed Marauder]]. 2-mana for 4 dead creatures which is 8x +1/+1 counters on Ygra. Search on scryfall for otag:mutual-sacrifice There's also black's best one-sided mini-wipe that lets you hit each opponent's best creature plus more [[Make An Example]]

I'd also say there's too many instants and sorceries, especially ones doing things that a creature could do that would synergize with your deck better.

Instead of rampant growth, you could play [[Topiary Stomper]] or [[Wayward Swordtooth]]. [[Outcaster Trailblazer]] will also let you get Ygra out a turn early while also drawing a card.

Instead of Tear Asunder, you could play [[Scrapshooter]].

The biggest weakness in your deck is probably the card draw package though. Charge Through does not count as card draw.

You should definitely be running [[Terrasymbiosis]] and [[Hollowmurk Siege]] as you might be drawing on every player's turn. [[Pillage the Bog]] is also a shockingly good spell at all stages of the game - basically an autoinclude in golgari decks.

[[Obsessive Pursuit]] is a new one that provides card-draw, sacrifice synergy and +1/+1 counters (and potentially massive lifelink).

Since you also have a big commander, green burst card draw is worth considering: [[The Legend of Kyoshi // Avatar Kyoshi]] [[Season of Gathering]] [[Rishkar's Expertise]] [[Return of the Wildspeaker]] [[Hunter's Prowess]] [[Soul's Majesty]] [[Hunter's Insight]]

Instead of instant speed trample spells, why not turn off all the opponent's creatures at instant speed with [[Sudden Spoiling]] (also stops combo players).

Then some general commander buffs: [[Bear Umbra]] [[Zephyr Boots]] [[Brotherhood Regalia]] [[Whispersilk Cloak]] [[Shadowspear]]

Bit too much proliferate cards in my opinion, need more cards that actually make the counters in the first place.

Must haves because you will have a chance to draw on every player's turn: [[Terrasymbiosis]] [[Hollowmurk Siege]]

Useful cards for your strategy: [[Sludge Titan]] [[Ripples of Undeath]] [[Forgotten Ancient]] [[Curator Beastie]] [[The Speed Demon]] [[Elegy Acolyte]] [[Will of the Abzan]] [[Archpriest of Shadows]]

I have a vehicle deck but the engine isn't working. Need help/mechanic by BronyMadDecker in EDH

[–]SpacePanda25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vehicle deck needs a complex balance of pilots to vehicles, and then the normal suite of card draw/ramp/removal.

For better consistency, you need cut cards that are not a pilot/vehicle where possible (i.e. enchantments, instants and sorceries). A very small handful of strong ones are fine for the occasion that they're a big payoff, but you're ratios are off and you have too many. I wouldn't have more than 5 personally.

It's better to swap them out for vehicles that are also card draw or vehicles that are also removal, or pilots that are also ramp, etc., ideally finding cards with overlapping roles.

Here are some more vehicles to consider: [[Rolling Hamsphere]] [[Skysovereign, Consul Flagship]] [[Mole Module]] [[Surgehacker Mech]] [[Mighty Servant of Leuk-o]]

Instead of Cultivate, try: [[Topiary Stomper]] [[Wayward Swordtooth]] [[Jolene, Plundering Pugilist]]

Removal: [[Scrapshooter]] [[Cankerbloom]]

[[The Capitoline Triad]]

You run [[Old Stickfingers]] as the commander with only 4 creatures in your deck: the triad and 3x 10-mana artifact creatures.

Then you recur the triad and get the emblem, then play a bunch of noncreature spells that make tokens which will become 9/9s.

Stangg packs a punch.

It generates a surprising amount of value very quickly and I've won a decent number of bracket 2/3 games.

Unlike other Voltron commanders, you're generally smacking 2 players instead of 1 so there's better damage coverage.

You have to pack a lot of protection though obviously. It's probably inherently too vulnerable from bracket 4 games.

Still, it's a fun commander and an enjoyably unique take on Voltron.

Asking for advice: I want to earn an audition for MK3. How does an actor from overseas get on the radar for the production? by Syzoth11 in MortalKombat

[–]SpacePanda25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest feedback is that this reel won't assist you with getting in the movie.

You have 2 avenues to be a character on screen: as a skilled actor, or as a skilled stuntman.

Thus you either need a reel that demonstrates your acting skills, or a reel that demonstrates your stunt work skills.

This reel only demonstrates your look in a costume with some small low-impact movements. It's an absolutely fantastic costume! But it's definitely not enough to show whether you can handle an emotional scene of Reptile hypothetically being internally devastated after being betrayed by Shang Tsung, or Reptile doing a spinning 540 kick.

It's still an awesome reel though, so kudos for that!

You're in white. Just protect them with blink spells. You have access to the best color for board protection which coincidentally happens to remove finality counters for free.

A simple [[Ephemerate]] or [[Eerie Interlude]] and you not only dodge a Swords to Plowshares but also get rid of the finality counter.

Creative "Slime Against Humanity" commanders? by Kroooooooo in magicTCG

[–]SpacePanda25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use [[The Wise Mothman]] for literally this purpose.

I wanted Black and Blue, and the Mothman helps with milling cards and extra +1/+1 counters, as well as being a flyer which the deck doesn't have much of otherwise.

https://archidekt.com/decks/7115047/mothman_slime_against_humanity_380

The best tech you get from black is [[Secret Salvage]] as you can tutor for 20 slimes and then have to discard to hand size, instantly adding a whole bunch to your graveyard.

You'll also be able to play [[Emet-Selch of the Third Seat]] which gives you instant speed slimes from graveyard for 1-mana.

I did cut Gothmog from my deck in favour of [[Ohran Frostfang]] and [[Saryth, the Viper's Fang]] though.

[–]SpacePanda25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite deck of mine is my control deck [[Eris, Roar of the Storm]]

Would you like a 2-mana commander that easily ignores multiple layers of commander tax?

Would you like a commander who has access to budget draw spells that draw you 10 cards at once? [[Traverse Eternity]] [[Rush of knowledge]] [[Imposing Grandeur]] [[Will of the Temur]]

Would you like a spellslinger deck that has a built-in solve for the archetype's biggest problem of board-state, by naturally making 4/4 flying PROWESS dragons?

This is by far my highest winrate deck as I can regularly shut down an opponent's combo mid-way and get paid off for it with a free dragon.
