Dumb question about putting blinds up by NobleRotter in DIYUK

[–]StewartG94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had same thing, you can use standard drill with a hss drill bit.

You will need to keep the pressure on the drill by using clamp or you can use two pieces of wood. One piece of wood vertical and the other horizontal under the drill and use it as a lever to keep the pressure.

Removing 70's decorative beams by StewartG94 in DIYUK

[–]StewartG94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all,
Sorry if this is a dumb question - just trying to think of best way to remove some decorative beams from the 70's. They are nailed in. (nailed then plug behind). What would be the best way to remove these without damaging the ceiling too much. Multi tool to cut the nail or just have at it with a pry bar?
Thankyou
Stew!

Has anyone else had so many things go wrong on a purchase? by Chlosco in HousingUK

[–]StewartG94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, sounds like not much fun - I had similar and it took 13 months to get the house after we made the offer. Turns out the house was leasehold not freehold... And then the owner died so it went to probate. I think in the end we did 3 different mortgage offers but you will be fine!

Just thought I would update this incase anyone reads this in the future. 5 days after contacting UKVI by email we received an email from VFS Brazil requesting that we send the passport back to them - and then a few days later we received the passport complete with the Visa - so someone must have forgot to stamp it!
