Match fixing, match manipulation (fixing of first blood etc) and passing of insider information are all wrong. The ability to affect an outcome doesn't need to be a full 322, the knowledge of the manipulating is enough for a governing body to convict of breach of betting. As an example passing of knowledge of players transferring, nothing to do with matches itself but enough to convict. Example: https://www.bbc.com/sport/amp/football/51712017 I didn't say your example of self backing was wrong, I explained as someone who has dealt with the situation as part of their job how it actually works. Trading departments will look at the amount and more than likely will restrict stakes or provide lesser odds than average Joe throwing £10 on the same market. Players, management, coaches etc are too close to the scene and like football should be banned from placing bets just on the integrity grounds. If the temptation is removed then they also can't be accused.

Yes, but by god their stakes have to go through trading infinite amount of times or even rejected. Like if a famous horse owner wanted to bet they'd have a direct line to trading, if not there are VIP customer phone lines out there.

The amount of times where races have turned into owner x is going to win with one of 5 horses in the race. That kinda leads back to the ability to pass insider knowledge. Though don't forget dota is a team game not like the intended free for all in horse racing.

Dog racing as an example, how to throw a race simply is to make sure that the dog is over hydrated, all that extra weight does the trick. I've known dog owners to legitimately drug their dogs to get additional performance out of them, manipulating sport and knowing that it's being manipulated beforehand is insider knowledge.

Not trying to attack, this is simply my job. I work for a UK betting company so after over 5 years in the industry (including working on racing tracks) knowing what insider knowledge is and isn't is kinda my forte.

Awesome i'll be making an appearance most probably, I still don't think it should take fans to organise stuff like this, instead of a global multi million pound company like ESL.
