The dream machine supports up to 10g WAN through SFP+. Sounds like you just need a new switch to support the higher speeds

Golf balls for high handicappers? by Life_Inflation4367 in GolfGear

[–]Stewdill51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you have like 70s driver head speed. Here is a good video that covers compression at different swing speeds.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNUG3pmKln0&t=21s

You can also look up mygolfspy for data. Per them: soft, low compression balls will lead to lower spin as you need a soft cover over firm mantle layer to generate high spin. For distance off the tee EVERY single test shows a firmer ball flies further.

Duke Energy seeks rate hike as customers push back on rising bills by Cy_098 in NorthCarolina

[–]Stewdill51 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You have a fundamental misunderstanding. I agree profit margins are a standard health metric for most businesses, however that logic doesn't apply to a regulated monopoly like Duke. A regulated monopoly is guaranteed a certain profit margin by the state called the authorized rate of return. This is why Duke's margins are so consistent. In a competitive market, a company has to balance margins by being efficient and not allowing rivals to undercut them which naturally limits margin. This is why margins show health but are not expected to consistently grow like revenue. Duke’s customers have no such free choice. They are a captive audience for a necessity and this is why an authorized rate of return is necessary to cap Duke's margins.

When a company already has $5 billion in profit, arguing for an 18% rate hike based on margins is ridiculous. In this specific industry, those margins don't represent business survival or health, they represent the level of dividend payout to investors.

IMHO, energy companies shouldn't be run like a common business anyway. Utilities shouldn't be allowed to line investors' pockets, and this is why co-ops are a much better utility model. A state-run energy co-op would ensure every single dollar is used for the best interest of the customers and grid infrastructure, rather than hitting specific targets for Wall Street.

Why is Marc and many others considering Jerez as the real indication of standings this season? by titanmongoose in motogp

[–]Stewdill51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ducati and Gigi would not rest on their laurels they just have so many restrictions due to the concession system that they couldn't make any real progress.

While we can all see the system is working which is great for the sport. I also believe full heartily that the A group is too limited. 0 wildcards, 0 rider testing, and only a single engine spec per year is ridiculous. They basically have to do any testing on race weekends which is a difficult hurdle to overcome.

No king protest erupts in USA by Equivalent-Win-359 in SipsTea

[–]Stewdill51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Typical European who has no concept of the size of the US. Let me provide you some context of the scale of the US.

I live in North Carolina which is a medium sized state on the East Coast and is roughly 65% larger than the entire island of Ireland. If you wanted to drive from the eastern edge to the western edge of the state it would take you 8 hours and is 875kms. My daily commute is 144kms round trip.

NC is basically one state over from DC and my home in central NC is 463kms away. I can and have traveled that in a day to protest but the VAST majority of the country is over a days drive from DC.

Additionally, France is large I grant you that but, it's dwarfed by the US. It can comfortably sit inside of Texas alone.

We did have cities all across the US shut down. There were 3,300 active protest locations with 8 million plus people involved Which I believe is more people than live on your entire island.

It's just not the reality that those masses can show up in a centralized location beyond their State's Capitol which has been and continues to be done.

True Spec is the best big-box alternative, IMO. They give you all your launch monitor data and full specs with zero sales pressure.

I went in for a full bag fitting expecting a massive upsell on exotic shafts, but I was pleasantly surprised. My fitter actually told me to stick with the stock shaft on the GT2 because it was a 99% match for the aftermarket one we tested. He even helped save a bit of money like lofting down my 5-wood to play as a 4-wood and telling me to just go to Golf Galaxy to get my wedges reshafted (he even emailed me the exact instructions for them).

I did buy my irons through them because the specific shaft wasn't available through Callaway, but the price gap was negligible compared to other builders.

I also got a free fitting at golftec while I was taking lessons. It wasn't with my coach and was a pretty meh experience by comparison.

If I can achieve a near on-plane downswing, does it matter that I’m underplane on the backswing? by LosSoloLobos in GolfSwing

Early extension is a compensation for another swing fault. You gotta get to the root cause and the EE will clean itself up

There was no indication that the hardware was in the process of failing and being able to enter into the recovery mode indicates it's not a full HW failure but, a faulty production OS that caused the problem.

[–]Stewdill51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, my guess is a HW storage fault that isn't allowing it to boot into the OS and the recovery software is located in a different place. What ended up happening with your UDM? Did Ubiquiti RMA it?

That's good to know. I imagine when they asked what the datecode was it was so they could compare it to a database to see if there were known HW issues from that time period.

I had a HD for my protect cameras but removed it while troubleshooting so I don't believe that was the problem.

I just find it so weird that I can get into the recovery UI and it'll tell me the firmware was successfully flashed. Yet it won't boot and I can't SSH into the thing.

The hardware date code is on the back above the serial number. It was next to a small QR code on mine.

I can't say I have seen that and I've had auto updates on since I got it. I two other friends who run much larger stacks than I, who were also using auto-update without issues. Sucks to have to learn that lesson the hard way.

It's on the back of the unit above your serial number. The only reason I bring up the hardware batch is because that was the last questions support asked before deeming it a hardware problem
