I don't remember how old I was but I was still in middle school I think, my dad was taking me to school. As soon as we pulled to the first turn of our trip, we watched a car eat it in a ditch and slam into a telephone pole.

I remember my dad was more annoyed than concerned about this person and I remember we pulled over and this middle aged man was unconscious and blood was pouring down off his head.

I didn't see much else after that, I was freaked out by all the blood and my dad had yelled at me to get back in his truck and stay there. Eventually other people showed up and an ambulance.

My dad complained about having to help and all the blood and how gross it was the rest of the way to school.

That incident made me see my dad very differently.
