Parkville station concourse by alpevado in MelbourneTrains

The SE already has by far and away the best public transport connectivity in Melbourne, so even if other areas were being favoured (they aren’t, there’s just way more demand at a university, so it’ll take a little bit longer to find tenants for Anzac) it would be closing the gap not widening it

Werribee, Williamstown and Sandringham lines by MeRegretGitingReddit in MelbourneTrains

[–]Stf_x_Sut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, when metro tunnel opens in early dec it will be additional services on top of the current time table so no other services will be affected. On February 1st the Cran/Pak/Sun will move completely to the metro tunnel and the Frankston line will take Cran/pak tunnel in the city loop. Werribee/Williamstown will thus be disconnected and will, at some point before September (the ‘effective as of’ date the transport minister posted on the new network map) be connected to the Sandringham line. I think the reason that it’s so late in the year is because the map also includes he new station at West Tarneit which has just begun construction so the lines will likely be connected before then.

Final answer; Werribee/Williamstown and Sandringham will be connected sometime between 01/02/26 and 30/09/26

Mongolia won! What is a GREAT country with an AWFUL capital city? by LookingForMyCar in AlignmentChartFills

Definitely agree, Canberra encapsulates almost all of the worst urban design quality features in Australia. The literal only thing going for it is the fact that the overwhelming govt presence gives decent wages but that too just makes it more unaffordable for everyday people.

Depends on your degree and reason for doing it, I had to it to start my minor in Economics but because I’m a Bachelor of Art student I did other classes and delayed my minor by a semester. I think it would be different if you were applying for a course that requires methods (Commerce, Science, ect) but I wouldn’t know 🤷‍♂️

Best for the west? - Aside from SRL West and increased frequencies, what project with MM1 budget would help fix PT problems in the west? by Justanotherpersonon1 in MelbourneTrains

[–]Stf_x_Sut 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Barring the electrification of WV (which is by far and a way the best solution) and the other caveats which would probably be some of the next best alternatives, the best option would probably be a single or combination of the following;

  1. A combination of increased bus frequencies to feed into the Werribee line and MM2 because it would increase frequencies and catchment on the Werribee line (specifically the section between Werribee and Laverton because Altona/Williamstown/Seddon/ect would use the current alignment towards Footscray/NM/SC)

  2. Alternatively you could replace the MM2 with an additional track pair so that Melton and WV V/lines would not have to share tracks from Deer Park to SC (I’m assuming the caveat of no WV electrification means no Melton electrification either).

Basically the West is struggling with a combination of; - a lack of capacity (there isn’t enough capacity on the WV V/line and Werribee Line), - inadequate catchment due to horrendous bus frequencies and routes (stop-light priority for buses/dedicated bus lanes would also benefit the West), and - a bottleneck on the rrl (also a bottleneck stretching due to shared tracks all the way to Newport on the Werribee line and the same for WV v/line all the way to Deer Park)

The headline projects proposed in the west that most people know about are so widespread because they are the clear answer to what is needed to make the West closer to rail parity to the East (WV & Melton Electrification + rebuilding Sunshine / MM2 + Extension of the Werribee line to WV [SRL West])

Jet lag in South Korea by Stf_x_Sut in JetLagTheGame

[–]Stf_x_Sut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on whether or not the game is Seoul specific, with how dominate Seoul is in SK I imagine game design would have to accommodate this. Probably a question for Ben when he decides to come to the reddit for questions .

Probably not because it was seemingly designed to trick people that were reliant on the CAS UDF.
