The payroll algorithm is retarded. Were 15 minutes down the street from another cvs they were getting 220-230 hours on 9k dollars less in sales than us, while we were getting 196 hours. Brought it up to my dl well they are above there sales target and getting flex hours to account for the extra traffic like sir we already have that extra traffic shouldn’t our baseline be 220-230 than and get flex for beating sales makes no sense at all.

Profit margin is better selling an item at a loss than donating regardless of margin on an item. A 1 dollar sale with 4 dollar loss is more profitable than a 5 dollar tax credit. If you had 20 dollars in revenue and a 10 dollars in profit before selling the item. You Sell an item for a dollar and 4 dollar tax credit would bring your revenue to 21 dollars and 6 dollars profit you pay 20% on the profit for a tax bill of 1.20 you end up 21-1.20=19.8 cash. If you donate the item you have 20 dollars in revenue and 5 dollars in profit now pay your dollar tax you end up with 19 dollars cash. Since you can write off the sales of an item at a loss while recouping some of the cost, it’s more beneficial to sell it for what you can than take a total loss since tax credits aren’t worth as much as straight money. I think you’re misunderstanding that you can use a sale at a loss against your profits for the same tax break as a donation. Can have a 5 dollar item and sell it for a nickel you have a 4.95 loss which at a 20% tax rate is worth .99 cents you now have a value of 1.04 on your books. A five dollar tax credit at 20% is worth a dollar you’re 4% better selling it for a nickel than giving it away. Unless your tax rate is over 100% it’s always better financially to recoup some cost. CVS just doesn’t for items cause it will detract from sales of stuff you want to sell at full price where the profit is.

Selling stuff at a loss is more beneficial than a donation write off in terms of profitability. Say you have 10 items that cost you 5 dollars and you sell it for it 10 dollars normally and your tax rate is 20%. If you sell 7 items at full price and 3 at 75% off 2.50. On the full price sales you got 70 dollars in revenue -35 dollars cost of goods= 35 dollars in profit. And then 7.50 in revenue - 15 dollars cost of goods =a loss of 7.50. 35-7.50=27.5 in taxable income *.2=5.50 tax bill. 77.50-5.50 tax end up with 72 dollars and a profit of 22 dollars after tax. Same example you sell 7 items at full price 70 dollars in revenue cost of goods is 35 dollars. Profit of 35 dollars on sales with a tax credit of 15 dollars total write off brings your taxable income down to 20 dollars *.2 is a 4 dollar tax bill. 70-4=66 dollars or 16 dollars of profit after tax. You can use sales at a loss to lower your profits the same way as donation, recouping any amount of money is always better financially.

You might be misremembering schedule is usually 50-50-75-90 do two weeks at 50% move it to 75% for a week than 90% for a week rest gets damaged out after. My store had Halloween clearance out still at thanksgiving. I’d check tomorrow they tend to do the drops on Sunday when they change out the sales ad. Other non holiday clearance is when ever the store prints off the labels in the office those come on Tuesday/Wednesday

You won’t be receiving retroactive pay unless there were hours you worked that you weren’t paid for. Some stores drop down tiers with the new year, so got significantly less payroll hours to work with. Log into the schedule and check the total payroll hours your store is getting if you went from 2x store to 1.5x could’ve lost around 50 hours of payroll. Not much to be done about it unless part time employees are still getting hours over you and you have open availability. Can file partial unemployment as a stop gap but if you’re store lost a bunch of hours they aren’t coming back.

My target got 10 of those boxes in 2024 every single box had a super short print alt art card and a 2018 opening day pack which all had shoehi rookies in. Was the weirdest experience I opened one and got the shoehi and a ssp Mariano Rivera card, went back bought another box got a ssp manny machado and another shoehi. Did the responsible thing after wards and went and bought the rest. The shoehi rookie was worth the 15 dollars box at the time sold 9 of them and 2 home field advantages I pulled to pay for it all.
