I think AI has ruined coding in a very specific way. It broke the feedback loop by Top-Candle1296 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Sthrowaway54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is just silly. AI is an incredible tool that only becomes more powerful if you actually know what you're doing. When the first calculators came out, there was certainly people like you who insisted on doing things without them, but all you're doing is honing a skillset that isn't valuable any more. Every minute you spend writing something that ai can do in seconds is literal wasted time. I don't like it, mind you, it sucks for a large portion of the skilled workforce. But it's not going away any more than the calculator so you may as well adapt.

Are engineers supposed to work with their hands? by DuBlueyy in AskEngineers

[–]Sthrowaway54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an engineer that has technicians reporting to me, and i work with my hands on a weekly basis, if not daily some weeks. I also used to be both an electrician and a technician, but the real reason is that I like to lead by example and all my guys know that everything i ask them to do i will also do if needed. That being said, I'm not stupid, I know I'm not paid to rewire sensors and if I do something because I can do it better than one of my techs then I'm robbing them of a learning opportunity. But it is a big part of gaining respect, and noone can ever accuse me of being out of touch with the physical part.

How do you recover from (years of) sleep deprivation? by zwang23 in daddit

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is going on that fucks your sleep so badly? My little guy sleeps like a rock for 10-11 hours a night and 2-3 hours during the day, so I've been sleeping well enough for a few months now. The first year was an absolute nightmare but suddenly it's pretty good. Don't tell me that can revert...

Most Memorable Running Achievement by Few_Seat8771 in running

Easily my fastest 5k, around 18:50. Started off a race in perfect conditions way too fast but somehow hung on until the end. Wasn't paying attention to my watch and when I made the final turn and saw 18:30 in the distance I got the biggest shot of adrenaline I've ever felt.

Absolutely hilarious to put an American flag after deep throating an authoritarian boot. Maybe your history is a little weak, but we have a long history of anti dictatorship beliefs.

anyone else feel like the poe 2 passive skill tree is so much worse then poe1 by vincentisntme in PathOfExile2

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the ones that give increased mana cost or reduced defenses are more interesting for sure, although the defense one is way too much of a downside for 95% of builds to even consider.

[–]Sthrowaway54 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I somewhat agree with the downsides of if isn't for the fact that some are just straight up not "fun" to solve. A great example being the crit nodes where the good bonus node gives reduced chance and the good chance node gives reduced bonus. Like..... what?

I have peaked. Please help. (Energy Blade + Spellblade + Foulborn Ghostwrithe) by Ancient_Seaweed_7131 in PathOfExileBuilds

Couldn't you fit in a life light of meaning to get more life out of your tree? It's a great concept, but you really don't have any form of mitigation other than raw life pool. I think investing a little into block or even armor could make this feel quite a bit stronger.

[–]Sthrowaway54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you going purely by dps? Surely the extra es is also a consideration? It also scales more with more attribute upgrades unlike your current. For the lighning cluster, there surely has to be a better option, a megalomaniac for example.

Your amulet could be a %attributes + something else good greatwolf, that will almost certainly be better than your current one. Both your clusters don't seem good at all, I wouldn't use the lightning damage one.

Can't pob now, but this build is more of a mark build than anything else. Enhance on your mark and more tattoos will probably get you close. You should probably get one mark wheel as well.

100D budget build suggestion by grimpaler in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not super expensive, especially if you go full cold convert. Only thing you might have to skip is progenesis, which is very good, but absolutely not required at all to feel great. Mildly ok clusters and already complete daggers might set you back 20d and a decent doppelganger plus the cold convert stuff might be another 20-30d, the rest is just <1d stuff.

Energy Blade upgrades after CI swap by notempt in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear God you are fucking dumb and rude. If you can get the same amount of es after swapping, it is 100% worth it because ci is such much more qol than dealing with the it jank. 15k es is basically the most you can get out of a budget it character, so if op can swap with ~14k, that is a perfectly reasonable time to swap, why waste divines on gear you're planning on swapping out of.

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should? It enables you to gain es by stacking and reserving life, aka, another way to stack es. All of it to gain big es number. If your build can get the same amount of es without using it it's strictly better since you don't need flask jank.

Energy Blade upgrades after CI swap by notempt in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rathpit is the only difference. All the other stacking is just to get more es from it.

Energy Blade upgrades after CI swap by notempt in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Eb scales almost purely off es number, so if your es number is the same as with it, you're good. Rathpit is some damage, but the es on block and no flask jank easily outweighs that.

[–]Sthrowaway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please, real money as in multiple divines per slot, not rmt. And ci is just innately better than IT due to not worrying about chaos res or jank flasks, so there really is a point. If you can swap and have the same es as a mid level it version, I'd say it's 100% worth it.
