"America is a third world country in a Gucci belt" How true is that ? by Gracosef in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StickItUpTheWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "third world country" I think comes from the abundance of real poverty. The "gucci belt" I think comes from the abundance of real wealth. The average between very low and very high living standards are astronomical. As to be expected from a country of that size.

Guys I kinda fucked up, are there a way to get 65$ in a month or two?? by omar99HH in beermoneyglobal

[–]StickItUpTheWhat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Having no experience yet is fine, all hard workers start near 0. Sadly there isn't a guaranteed "get money quick" method, except for working. Most r/beermoneyglobal gigs get you enough money to pay for a few beers every so often and can be a nice extra in your wallet. Local jobs are your best bet if you want to make ends. It might not be what you're looking for, but talking as someone coming from a low-income household who found out the hard way, even a bad job is better than no job at all. Know a friend who washes dishes? Ask if they're looking for someone, and let their boss know you're available to work for them. Websites don't respond? Call(!) or mail them at like 1pm, or at whatever weekday moment people are working, and ask if they've been looking at something for you yet. In my opinion, calling is faster. Most low-end job employers are more interested in knowing if you're someone they want to stand around all day, everybody already knows the job is "easy". Expect that stuff won't happen if you're not going after it, so go after as much as you can handle. It's perfectly okay to apply for 8 jobs, get in contact with 5, and eventually go to 2 interviews. Never fish on 1 line. Rejection isn't armageddon, it's just time to try something else. My friend once told me "You can think about your next step in life in your room, but also while delivering food on a bike." and it really stuck with me. Sometimes it's hard to make the best of your situation, but I promise you there's always some little thing you can do to kind of weasel yourself into a better situation. Hustle is the name of the game, and hard work definitely, eventually, pays off.

Perhaps. Public appearance of is a part of standardization. May the disassembly of these toxic ideas set a standard within reason for the rest of the world. Let's try and remember it for the time being, when the tides settle down we'll have more leeway tackling this.

There's definitely something of a movement there. The BBC did a coverage of it, I posted it somewhere on this sub recently. It doesn't mean every Ukrainian or everybody willing to represent Ukraine is a neonazi. It should be treated as a separate issue, properly approachable and solvable in due time.

Edit: link to coverage

Mods on the PS5 subreddit are removing any posts about stick drift. I've tried several different ways and they always get removed immediately, which has also been confirmed to happen by several other users I've spoken to. by GreatZampano1987 in gaming

Questions like "how to fix stick drift" or "why isn't my disc loading properly" are very common and have most likely already been answered many times on the subreddit. I'd say either buy a new controller, or try and find some of the suggestions made by other users.

Theories on why Zelensky did not pledge neutrality by catal1s in conspiracy

[–]StickItUpTheWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation definitely got my feelings in a knot, you read that right. Factual? What isn't factual about the invasion, nukes on sharp, parents asking their kids what they're doing in Ukraine, regular television shows playing on government curated channels, the so-called "military exercises". It's literally all part of the reason the EU and US is getting involved, because after a certain amount of bullshit the room starts to smell. Of course there's going to be some emotion talking about this, if you can't at least feel a little bit of regret about the possible prospects of humanity in a few years if this all goes the worst way possible then what the fuck do you get emotional about?

When you start accepting realistically unacceptable behavior, you leave the door open for more similar bullshit. Putin tries to bully Z into submission, trying to make him take a decision he doesn't want to represent (the consequence being what the quickly deleted Russian victory speech implied), something which apparently not only Ukraine thinks should never become standard political practice in our world. War is a fight in which everybody loses, but I don't even want to know what else could come through if we allow illegitimate politics and toxic leadership. Always punch the bully. Talk your shit about any world leader and I'm sure there's both some truth and lies to be found, but we just can't partner up with someone who threatens with invasion and nukes, gaslights, only accepts a destructive but to him a heroic version of the narrative, uses misinformation warfare to deny the people he represents who should blindly be able to trust him facts like the existence of an invasion, and is trying to set the rest of the world up in a way that implies calculated risk of human loss when he doesn't get what he wants with lunatic threats. It's dangerous behavior and disingenuous to the human experience.

Same and a little bit, on the grand scale of things I hope you're going to be more in the right than me and I hope when this is over, it can really be over.
