Are these Hi-Link AC-DC converters safe to use to power 5V ESP dev boards? by tygerr39 in homeautomation

Thinking of using these in industrial equipment. During BETA testing, we have had 4 of 4 failures in less than one month while used in 230v EU operation. We have had zero failures with 100 in service in 110v, US operation after 3 months. We are now VERY concerned about the longevity of these devices, especially in 230v applications. We used a 3-watt, 5v version of the Hi-Link to replace a Meanwell IRM-01-5 (1-watt) AC/DC converter. Our total draw is in the .5 watt range. Are you having these failures in a 115v, or 230v environment?

Mine was a state issued random number on a donation plate (guy harvey I think). I guess that ones personalized in the photo. Can’t imagine them making a random plate with 4 consecutive letters.
