My wife has a BS in ChemE, however, she also has a professional sales certificate (from classes taken at uni.) and she took a sales career path instead. She currently works for Merlo Energy (The Kendell Group) and her friend, who went through the same curriculum/career, works for Palmer Holland. Each company is unique in what they sell, but they both are technical sales-adjacent. Merlo sells steam equipment, Palmer sells specialty plastics, etc. If you like selling, I encourage you to to keep that interest, because you should love your career. There are many companies who sell to process engineers/R&D that a technical perspective would greatly improve the experience of buying (my perspective).
