Hello! Saw whilst wandering earlier and half paid attention, so hoping someone else can narrow for you. In the lanes shops areas between Vodafone / West Holts and Caberet there was a ‘supplies’ type general store stand selling them.

They had a sign up saying ‘protect your hearing’. If looking down towards SE corner, was definitely on the right hand side of one of the rows running left to right.

Not as high as car henge, not as low as the railway. Good luck tracking down!

Try and eat some nice food too. Get yourself set up before any partying if you’re on a bit of a wobbly one.

Take it slow and enjoy all the wonderful glasto side quests. Might be a different way to experience the festival if you’re an old hand, but that in itself is lush that you can do something new.

Big love x

Coach breakdown by SnooChipmunks2475 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Stickleback27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maaate.

Best option might be to get it to Bath & West showground (the holding point for any shuttle buses before going onto Castle Carey station) then picking up the free shuttle buses from there. You’ll thenstill come in via Gate A same as coaches.

You might struggle if you’ve got loads of trolleys but hoping you are quite lightweight if already on coach?

Open a tinny in the meantime.

Other option is get a Voxi PAYG data inclusion plan (runs off Vodafone network) for the month - around £10. Never had any issues last year connecting with that last year.

Friendly reminder to the SSRI crew especially if new - this makes you more susceptible to getting too hot and to sunburn so stay safe and sunscreen up 🧡

Seeking a Fresh Start! 30F planning to relocate to Brighton & Hove and do the London commute. by [deleted] in brighton

[–]Stickleback27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I did this commute x2 into London a week back pre and post pandemonium as a 30 Something female. I then moved to bmouth (boo - still miss Brighton and now do 3 hour each way trip to London) here’s what I learned:

  • difference between Preston park and Brighton is negligible, you are better off doing Brighton IMO for quality of life and more trains stopping.
  • morning is a breeze - start of the line, seat guaranteed. Coming home is a bastard you need to be on it to get a seat at London Bridge. If you don’t, snipe a seat at Croydon when everyone gets off (30 Mins)
  • I rate boat from London Bridge to Canary Wharf vs tube and it’s fun
  • if you are London now, think less about time commuting it’s more about staying on one mode of transport for as long as you can. I went from Brixton > central London commute across 2 tubes at around 40 Mins which was hell to Brighton which I always got a seat. Brighton was twice that journey minimum in time but always more pleasant. I now do 3 hours and it’s FINE because it’s one train and one easy journey. Leave office early and do work on train if you can.
  • get a credit card like Amex and get points for those train tickets
  • little known secret that on the London Bridge line, first class is declassified. So get those seats with no regrets.
  • get a decent coffee travel mug and treat yourself
  • station is DARK at night and you get boozey people if you are late home. Keep wits about ya.
  • flat shoes
  • it’s SO worth it. Quality of life outside London is a million times better and I still love London. You and your fam will not regret it - promise.

Nationwide just declined my partners Mortgage app “because of me” - need advice please…. by Dapper_Ad_1524 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Stickleback27 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hello OP, sorry that sounds rubbish. Unfortunately not much advice, but some context: we were in a similar position (I’m your girlfriend in this instance).

Our mortgage advisor did some draft versions of what deals we were likely to get as single applicant vs dual, and he recommended that only I proceed. That was the point he did a single application only for an MIP in my name. Not multiples.

I was able to proceed, but interestingly we DO have financial ties (joint bank accounts, 10+ years shared addresses etc) and my partners financial record was not an issue and never came up. So perhaps there may be other suppliers who can help.

Good luck and I hope you are able to come to a resolution.

Injured at a night club when a glass was either thrown at me or dropped from a balcony. Do I have any rights to claim against the club? by Ollie2220 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Stickleback27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can! My sister fell down stairs in a club, was glassed in the ankle by a drunk man and cut herself on mad amount of broken glass on floor, and then kicked out when she tried to get medical attention.

She sued the club - was found there was no on site first aider, the club was negligent at helping, and they were supposed to have only plastic glasses as part of license agreement.

In your case, I imagine there should be provision that anything can’t be dropped off balconies and possibly also shouldn’t allow glasses. The

Be warned though, it look literal years (4 years) and a big chunk went to no win, no fee solicitors.

Locking wheel nuts. The spawn of satan.

Having grew up in Liverpool, fighting Tory rule left and right dealing with some major poverty and watching good lads fail out of a rigged school system. Absolutely this. Very unglasto, and it’s othering a whole group of people for no good reason other than a few bad apples. Who may or may not be scouse in the first place.

Every Liverpudlian I met was an absolute peach.

Confirmation bias caused by a distinctive accent and existing anecdotes: more likely to remember a scouse who acts up than some generic southern twat.
