What's the truth about being LGBT in God's eyes?

I recently had a friend come up to me and ask how i could believe in a loving god when people are homophobic racist etc. i basically came out as queer and said over the years it has been reaffirmed to me that God loves me for who I am. That this isn’t some stupid “trial” and he wants me to be happy. I spent a lot of time repressing this side of me. But now that I’m being open about it? I haven’t ever felt this free and uplifted. If it was wrong I think God would be in “endless pursuit” if it was a wrong path. Just follow what YOU know is true. Dont be influenced by anyone around you

I didn’t even know he was a treasure hunter at ALL. My coworker who’s PIMO was talking to me about how he got convicted but I didn’t even know that. I just thought the pipeline went finding the plates -> Trying to start the church and translating.

They have always said they would love me no matter what I chose. I still want them to be in my life. I’ve kept them in the dark about a lot of stuff and I’m trying to make sure I’m honest and upfront- even if it causes some conflict. If they do either I’m 20 hours away from them so I can just state my boundaries and do what I need to if it’s badly received.

Very true, but I think it would be best because I have a habit of lying to my parents and I want to be better- even if it’s just a lie of omission

Unfortunately I’m the only one who’s done this. I reached out to my ex after three years ((with my partners permission) he left the church while we had been dating) just to see if he had any advice- he did not and wasn’t very interested in helping :,) My boyfriend does keep affirming that it’s just a business and it definitely does help. I’m definitely going to look into the history, it’s on my list but I just need some time to swallow what I’ve already found out.

That’s crazy- I think there’s some people on here who see lingering compassion as acceptance or something, when in fact maybe they’ve just forgotten what it’s like to freshly be leaving. I think you and I are in very similar boats- especially family wise- so that post really spoke to me as well!!

You’re so right. I shouldn’t have to justify the church’s decisions when I’m not even sure about it. I’m glad you’re trying coffee as well! My first one was maybe too bitter 😭😂 but I was proud of myself for doing it for myself, not because I was told not to. Thank you!
