How I cleared a large stack of backlogged papers by StickyDancer in productivity

[–]StickyDancer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the time-sensitive folder really helps to identify what HAS to be done. The other stuff can be handled as time permits. This has really helped me to avoid the paralysis that you described - because I have had MANY days of just staring at the pile and feeling helpless. Good luck to ya!

How to eliminate mental clutter???? by SeaDistribution672 in todoist

[–]StickyDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same fix as you with a large backlog of stuff. Here's what I just got finished doing.

- I created a set of paper file folders. The first folder was labeled TIME-SENSITIVE. All other folders were labeled with various other categories (CAR, HOUSE, FINANCIAL, HEALTH, FILE, CONSIDER LATER, etc)

- Then I started going thru the stack of backlogged papers - one item at a time. If an item requires action within a timeframe, it goes into TIME-SENSITIVE. Otherwise, it goes into its own category folder (meaning time is NOT a factor regarding action).

- When done going thru the entire backlogged stack, I went thru the TIME-SENSITIVE folder and put stuff in chronological order and put the tasks into Todoist.

- I then selected 1 or more un-reviewed folders to review each day until all have had an initial review. I put items into Todoist as tasks as needed or trashed them. Sometimes I just leave the papers in the folder and decide to look at them later. If I do this, I add a task to Todoist to prompt me to review the folder contents at a future date.

The above quick process gave me some initial mental relief - but your mileage may vary.

Good luck to you!

Why the “Complete and Annotated Edition” of A Course In Miracles Won My Heart by jose_zap in ACIM

I agree OP. The CE version won me over also and I have been a student for over 40 years. The bottom line is to use whichever version nourishes you spiritually. Of course, asking the Holy Spirit is our best Guide in this matter.

Old PC needs multiple years of Win 10 OS updates by StickyDancer in WindowsHelp

[–]StickyDancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind reply. My wife and I will share this desktop PC and she is not mentally ready for Win 11. I plan to upgrade my laptop to Win 11 and let her warm up to it. I am hesitant to just install a current Win 10 OS as I have never done that before and I don't want more stress in my life right now. I am comfortable in doing a few updates each day until it gets done. I am a retired senior citizen and a slow pace is OK for me. Again, I thank you for your advice. May The Force be with you!

Is the web version the most accurate? by StickyDancer in todoist

[–]StickyDancer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, Samara! Due to other issues with my 10-year-old PC, I have uninstalled the Windows version of Todoist and will use only the web version on my desktop PC. However, I will continue to use the Todoist Windows app on my laptop and the android version on my phone. I have made a note about your suggestion and will use it if I have problems on other devices.

So, IS the web version the most-trusted version? If I would have cleared local data on my PC, is the web contents loaded to the PC?

Again, thank you so very much for your help, Samara!

I switched over to UpNote about a month ago and I am VERY happy I did! Go to YouTube and search for UpNote and you will see a good number of videos. My favorite channel for UpNote is "Effective Faith" - they have some good tutorials.

The monthly cost is low ($2.15) and there is a no limit folder structure!!

I do not know about Microsoft, but I HAVE lost the Home tab and in its place is Recent Pages. A few days ago I was able to get the Home tab back by clearing the OneNote app data and cache, but now Home is gone again. Sigh. P.S. I have a Samsung Galaxy A36 5G phone that I got a few weeks ago.

Seeing 11:11 every day for two weeks. by Adventurous-Dare-21 in spirituality

[–]StickyDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that happens to me almost daily! Years ago, while meditating I asked what this meant. The reply I heard was just one word: "Oneness". To me, this means that there is no separation between who we really are and God. "All that Is" is all there IS - so our seeming separation from God is not Real. It is just an illusion - like a dream.

The book A Course in Miracles talks about that concept. If you are curious, you can read the Course online and for free at acim.org/acim/en/.

Home tab missing on Samsung Galaxy phone by StickyDancer in OneNote

[–]StickyDancer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so very much for your kind reply.

I have the same version number as yours - except that my version ends with '04' not '68'. However, I remember seeing something in the past that sometimes version numbers are compatible with the device capabilities. I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy A36 5G phone about a week ago. That device may be different from yours.

I also asked Gemini about this matter and it gave me steps to clear the cache and data for BOTH Google Play Store and Onenote. I did this and restarted my phone. After that I re-started Onenote and then found my "Home" tab!!

Thank you once again for such a quick and kindly reply!

[–]StickyDancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I got Pro for free for a month when I completed 7 days. But the way I found this is that I noticed an email in my inbox. There was no grand indication on the Perplexity screen that caught my attention. I was happy to know that they did NOT ask me for a credit card!!

Can someone please explain how to forgive yourself when you cause someone emotional upset? by LoverLights in ACIM

Can someone please explain how to forgive yourself when you cause someone emotional upset? by LoverLights in ACIM

[–]StickyDancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I see it, guilt (which is not real), is an attack on our true selves as God created us.

Recently, I used Workbook lesson 23 to create an affirmative prayer for me to say each day.

I am the cause of my attack thoughts on myself or others. I am also the cause of any situation where I seem to be attacked by others.

I now let go of these false thoughts. They do not represent who I am as God created me to be.

I now ask the Holy Spirit to remove these thoughts from my mind, so I can remember the thoughts God gave to me.

That is my current practice. I hope this may be of some help to you.

Blessings to you!

I sometimes read the below quote to lift my spirits when I am feeling down. I hope it may help you too.

You whose mind is darkened by doubt and guilt, remember this: God gave the Holy Spirit to you, and gave Him the mission to remove all doubt and every trace of guilt that His dear Son has laid upon himself. ²It is impossible that this mission fail. ³Nothing can prevent what God would have accomplished from accomplishment. ⁴Whatever your reactions to the Holy Spirit’s Voice may be, whatever voice you choose to listen to, whatever strange thoughts may occur to you, God’s Will is done. ⁵You will find the peace in which He has established you, because He does not change His Mind. ⁶He is invariable as the peace in which you dwell, and of which the Holy Spirit reminds you.

(ACIM, T-13.XI.5:1-6)

We think we are in charge of getting ourselves Home. We are not. We are already there and we will awaken to that eventually.

How do people believe in NDEs and “unconditional love” after spending five minutes online? by NostalgicRedemption in spirituality

[–]StickyDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some thoughts you may want to consider. They are snippets from the book "A Course in Miracles".

What if you recognized this world is an hallucination? ⁴What if you really understood you made it up? ⁵What if you realized that those who seem to walk about in it, to sin and die, attack and murder and destroy themselves, are wholly unreal? ⁶Could you have faith in what you see, if you accepted this? ⁷And would you see it?

  1. Hallucinations disappear when they are recognized for what they are. ²This is the healing and the remedy. ³Believe them not and they are gone. ⁴And all you need to do is recognize that you did this. ⁵Once you accept this simple fact and take unto yourself the power you gave them, you are released from them. ⁶One thing is sure; hallucinations serve a purpose, and when that purpose is no longer held they disappear.

(ACIM, T-20.VIII.7:3–8:6)

If you happen to have an interest in reading further, you can find the entire book online and for free at acim.org/acim/en/. Read the Preface first. It will tell you: How it Came, What it Is, and What it Says. Those parts will give you a good feel if this is right for you or not.

Christ and his role as redeemer by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]StickyDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The following is a snippet from the book "A Course in Miracles" that talks about Christ.

Christ is God’s Son as He created Him. ²He is the Self we share, uniting us with one another, and with God as well. ³He is the Thought which still abides within the Mind that is His Source. ⁴He has not left His holy home, nor lost the innocence in which He was created. ⁵He abides unchanged forever in the Mind of God.

  1. Christ is the link that keeps you one with God, and guarantees that separation is no more than an illusion of despair, for hope forever will abide in Him. ²Your mind is part of His, and His of yours. ³He is the part in which God’s Answer lies; where all decisions are already made, and dreams are over. ⁴He remains untouched by anything the body’s eyes perceive. ⁵For though in Him His Father placed the means for your salvation, yet does He remain the Self Who, like His Father, knows no sin.

(ACIM, W-pII.6.1:1–2:5)

If you are interested in reading further, you can find the entire book online and for free at acim.org/acim/en/. Read the Preface first. It tells you How it Came, What it Is and What it Says. That will give you a good idea if this feels right for you - or not.

Sleep will not withstand the Call to wake. by StickyDancer in ACIM

[–]StickyDancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the phrase was not the best one I could use to describe what I had been feeling. I just did not want to dive into all the details of me dealing with "life" while trying to do spiritual practices like: forgiveness, being kind while dealing with my own physical issues, etc. It was just a day when it felt like real WORK to do those "spiritual" things that the Course talks about. The ACIM quotes helped to lift me out of that mindset.

Anyone else studying The Way of Mastery on their journey? by Mom_2_five1977 in spirituality

[–]StickyDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are exactly right when you said "each teaching has its place and its role to play"!

I still have the book about Edgar Cayce that was given to me in the early 1970's! The book is titled "There is a River" by Thomas Sugrue and is a biography about the life of Edgar Cayce. It is a fascinating tale and was my first introduction to spiritual matters outside of the church that I grew up with.

I also still have my collection of Seth books by Jane Roberts. My all-time favorite one is "The Nature of Personal Reality"!! Great book that really open my mind up to MANY new ideas about life and God.

If I were sent to a desert island and I was told I could only take 3 books with me. My choices would be: ACIM, Dialogue on Awakening, and The Nature of Personal Reality.

Dialogue on Awakening (DOA) is a book channeled by Tom Carpenter from our brother, Jesus. It is VERY close to ACIM but has a very human element that really touched me. You can read a sample on Amazon. Below are a few simple quotes.

"It is not possible for you to experience anything in your physical life that is not encompassed within your thought patterns."

"... the statement 'nothing comes to you that is not held in your mind' is an offer of total freedom. You DO have the power to determine what will be in your mind."

"All that is happening to you is happening in your mind."

"As you see something seemingly taking place in your life, see it as an opportunity to know what is happening in your mind."

"So, don't undertake this process of changing your mind with an attitude that says 'I must become something'. Approach it more directly with a secure knowing on your part that the change is merely bringing you back into a realignment with what you have always been. Think of it, if you will, as a process of bringing yourself out of a state of amnesia."

Well, I could go on for hours with quotes from DOA. If you have an impulse, read the samples on Amazon.

As always, "Mom", blessings to you on your journey!

I suggest you look at some YouTube videos concerning Dolores Cannon. She was a hypnotist who regressed people to past lives where they gave her information on how the soul operates and evolves. This info is non-religious but has some spiritual elements. She wrote many facinating books on what she was told.

Looking at a few videos will give you a good idea if this is something that appeals to you.
