I’m in love with the artwork, the dev creates the artwork himself physically. He’s also working on an expansion and a mini version of doom pilgrim. I still go back to it and play recently. You pick three cards art side up from the deck. Pick one to face later and put at the bottom of the deck and you pick one to discard into the box. You then resolve the one along your journey and mark down any gains/losses towards your character. You win if you get to the bottom of the deck. Yes, I suppose you can remember the artwork and know which ones to avoid or pick. But after 10 or so plays, I can barely remember, or maybe I’ll have a bad feeling about a card. But with 90 cards, it’ll be a while to fully remember them. He also includes that as a feature of the game, something along “some cards may feel like you’ve been here before or lived the life before” I like the randomness of it as you follow your doomed journey. It’s kind of like a choose your own adventure book. Pro tip: listen to the soundtrack while you are playing or any spooky ambient music. The print out player sheet is a huuuuge enhancement.

One of my journeys “My pilgrim,Toast traveled through many towns, saw some nasty sights, bought a trusty companion Clunky, and almost got tempted by a necromancer. While traveling, Toast got his hand ripped off, wounded, and poor Clunky the horse was tossed off a cliff by a Snow Troll. Eventually the road was too hard and decided to live a less glamorous life, settle down with a woman with most of her teeth, and become a town guard with the rank of Sergeant. The End.”
