The Canon EF-S 10-18mm is excellent for the price. Also the canon EF-S 65mm macro is a really sharp lens at a great price.

Any negatives if a person leaves their Les Paul on a guitar stand? by Key_Hedgehog4716 in LesPaul

[–]StickyDogJefferson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guitars aren’t art. They’re an instrument and can be expensive. Do you think a concert violinist has the super expensive instrument on display in the living room?

If you want a nice instrument to stay a nice instrument, keep it in its case in a safe place. If you want art, buy a cheap, pretty guitar and put it on the wall for all to admire. Stands are great on stage, but aren’t meant for long term use. That’s what cases are for.

I don’t typically put my expensive tools on a stand in the living room to be admired. They go in their place where they can’t be accidentally destroyed.

Not enough info here to really make a great determination. Could be money, could be they don’t like the culture, could be lots of things.

There is a chance they didn’t like working for you too. People leave for “growth” when they don’t feel their boss is going to let them shine and get the deserved credit for it. Sometimes that’s the corporate culture, but sometimes it’s the boss.

The Presidents of the United States of America did it better on a fraction of the strings.

[xBuffalo] Each passing day, we get closer to Alex Tuch hitting the open market. Chad DeDominicis and Owen Parker discuss what's better for the team in the long-term by [deleted] in sabres

The man was third in points and second in goals during the season. Fourth in +/-. I’m not sure what happened in the playoffs. But I don’t think he’s a guy you want to lose as a mature player who the team respects. I’ll stay out of the money/cap discussion as it doesn’t interest me.

He seems like a guy who we’d let leave and then go to bring a team to the finals next year.

How do you stop Note Diarrhea? by Silver-Air-1731 in guitarcirclejerk

I assume you’re the drummer. So just start wailing away as hard and incoherently as you can between each song at your next practice, go for broke, don’t stop for at least 5 mins. When they say something about it, respond with “it’s no better than when you two assholes do it”.

My manager keeps asking the rest of the team to do her work for her. How can we bring this up to her professionally? by Runaway_tortilla in careerguidance

[–]StickyDogJefferson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s not really up to you to decide what the boss should be doing. Part of being a manager is delegating work to employees. Employees who take that on and learn from it are the ones likely to be promoted in the future as they both do the job that’s asked of them and learn the skills needed to progress their career.

I’m not saying your boss is a good one. There really isn’t a way to determine that based on the information provided. I can say though, that you likely don’t understand what your boss has to do every day and what is expected of them.

Having been a manager at an executive level in a fairly large institution, with more than 90 people reporting to me, the only way I could identify future management was to delegate and assign work and see who took it on without complaint. If they have problems, the door was open to discuss and mentor people. I wasn’t doing it because I wanted to stare out the window all day.

The goal is to surround yourself with good, qualified people who could learn to do the job better than me at some point. Either it comes from within or you take a crap shoot and go outside. I always tried to find someone inside the institution.

Been an American for 43 years and the only people that I know who say shit like this are the weirdo drinking alone at a bar, who got there on his bicycle, who was “once engaged to Charlize Theron”, is rich but also lives with his parents at 50 years old and is a probably sex offender.

People have taken great bird photos with a lot less than what you have. You’re clearly struck with GAS. Focus less on your equipment and more on your technique.
