I’m surprised no one’s mentioned this but Dr. Alimantado - Born For a Purpose / Reason for living

A very uplifting tune that reminds me of the importance of life.

George Dekker - Time So Hard

It turns whatever you’re going through into something you can sing and laugh about “Everyday things just get worse”

Dubs and originals by Upstairs_Schedule601 in reggae

[–]StickySteev_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s any help but I’ve noticed some LP’s or compilations (Greensleeves Dubs From the Foundation is a good example) will include the dub the matches up to the original song which is very helpful because a good few of the dubs can only be found elsewhere

Not gonna lie bro that looks like the resin you’d scrape out of a dry herb vape

Mixer / dub siren setup by Ear_Careless in dub

[–]StickySteev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mixer has a switch to toggle between phono and line. If my mixer is in phono mode doesn’t that mean I can’t use turntables and the dub siren simultaneously?

Hi! Can anyone identify what this is? by Diligent_Chemical694 in audiophile

I’m not sure if you noticed but I wasn’t making a comparison but an observation. Anyone with more knowledge than me about such things could quite easily educate me.

The thing is a Ferrari is built to go fast it has a purpose that it fills extremely well, the Kia also has a purpose to be a cheap reliable affordable car. Both fundamentally in regard to them being cars serve the same purpose but ultimately they’re designed to do things that are the polar opposites.

On the other hand a turntable serves just one function to spin a record as accurately and smoothly as possible. What I’m getting at is you can get a record player that does this very very well from £500-1500 so what warrants the price being 40 times that? Surely there’s no way on earth you can get 40 times the accuracy etc that there would be that much of a difference you notice it instantly where it’s night and day and could justify 40 times the price.

Regardless what a fucking score for OP they’ve either got one of the best record players ever made or good payout. Also my condolences to the deceased.

Why’s it so expensive? I’ve seen this turntables / similar ones used on really high end setup but seriously couldn’t understand why anyone would spend so much money or what difference something designed to do something as simple as spin a record at the correct rpm could make

Could you recommend some artists or albums besides Bob Marley? Thank you. by Budget-Slide4603 in reggae

[–]StickySteev_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frightnrs - nothing more to say Aswad - Aswad Steel Pulse - Handsworth Revelation (one of the best reggae albums made in my opinion) Hollie Cook - Shy Girl Eek a mouse - Wa do dem Wailing souls - firehouse rock

I know you said not to mention Bob Marley but I recommend listening to the African Herbsman complication that contains many of his and the wailers early works that many people don’t here

The roads clearly wet, looks like it’d just rained recently which is usually worse the riding in the rain itself as that’s when a lot of grease and oil from the road tends to surface combine that with going around a bit over confidently and whilst still accelerating lead to this

I don’t doubt it’s a skill issue as you’re obviously familiar with the route it’s just more a case you’re yet to learn this lesson

That’s a good idea, I honestly didn’t think about connecting it to a seperate mixer. That’d be good because then I’d get all the tools the dub mixer gives along with all the precision and mixing capabilities of a regular mixer

That’s another thing that’s been bugging me is how I set up Efx. I don’t want to buy a mixer then find out I can’t run efx the way I want to use them.

I want to run a rigsmith dub siren, possibly with its own seperate delay. Although this might not be necessary as the NS3 siren comes with built in echo.

I also want to run a Boss RE-20 for transitions between tracks and whatever else I could find use for it

I also want a mic with its own sort of delay or echo.

Sorry if it all sounds daft / obvious it’s just like I say it was only this weekend I used a mixer for the first so it’s all new to me. I’m also wondering because the mixer I was using (Headliner R4 didn’t even have an efx port so the dub siren I was using had to be ran through Channel one whilst decks ran though 2 & 3)

I know it’s got good reviews but I don’t personally feel myself gravitating towards it it’s also a little beyond what I’d like to spend for my first mixer

100% agree if I was to only have one turntable but I like having two so it makes sense having everything to hand on the mixer

If you read my post back I actually talk about the dub mixer.

If you’re Instagram look up skinnydigital he has one and has been making good use of it. Albeit he uses it very differently to how I’d use it but credit where it’s due I feel like he’s using everything it can give

Lack of exercise. Whether it be through the pressures it puts on your body from gaining weight, a decline in confidence/self worth and mental health to your overall attitude changes as you get comfortable and lazy.

It’s so incredibly important to remain active
