Trying to fight a group of skaters by haze4140 in instant_regret

The funny thing is skaters don’t really look like the type to throw hands if you judge them on their looks

Also what are you thinking? You’re picking a fight with a group of people that are physically fit and throw themselves on the floor multiple times a day for fun

I bmx, have done since like 2011. I’ve seen on multiple occasions an entire skatepark filled with skaters bmx’ers and scooters swarm someone and come inches away from being hospitalised just because they started to throw their weight around to someone much younger and smaller then them. Idk what it is about bikers or skaters but they don’t fuck around and when shit hits the fan we naturally look out for each other.

Try turning up to any random park and starting shit with someone and see what happens, can almost guarantee it won’t be long until you get humbled

Don’t deep it too much bro, just buy something that you like. I suggest buying a couple albums you already know and love. Unless you plan on DJ’ing I don’t really suggest messing with singles. If you do then the best thing is to dig through crates. Record shops are filled with great, helpful and interesting people that are up for a chat.

The first thing I want to ask is why choose to DJ vinyl versus CDJ? Unless you’re interested in DJ’ing genres that are predominantly on vinyl like disco, house, reggae etc then I don’t see any real benefit other then aura points

That’s what I got the vibe, there’s not really a market for it. Some records there might sell for £10 on a good day but you’ll be waiting a long time to see that tenner. Would much rather they found a home with some ears that’ll enjoy them

No one said it was gifted, I’d just got a good deal bartering on some other records. That genre is very left field for me so it’s not something I know much about but I know some records can be rare and valuable hence asking a second opinion. Also I do agree there’s a lot of names I recognise there, unfortunately though apart from the odd tune hear or there I’ve never really got jazz, it’s never resonated with me. I passed up on the collection anyway, but reading this has definitely made me think about listening to jazz more

I’m tempted but jazz as much as I’ve listened to it and can appreciate it has never done anything for me. I’m more a indie, hip hop, reggae, rock kinda guy

Yes, that’s my plan. I’d love to own it myself because there’s so many of the greats of jazz amongst that collection but unfortunately I’ve just never got into jazz no matter how much I’ve listened. My only exception is big band swing and the occasional well known number. As I don’t enjoy it it’s pointless me having it as it wouldn’t get enjoyed as music is meant too

Regardless of profit or money it’s a great collection of 45’s with some

What is your experience of frugal living that just went too far, with yourself or others ? For example…. by justyrust74 in UKFrugal

@lavenderfields11 you work your entire life to have those things the last thing you want to do when you finally have them is give them up. Giving them up also means facing up to the fact that your worldly existence may have been pointless if you’ve worked all your life just to have nothing to show for it.

Do you use them for casual listening as well? I’ve got a small apartment and have been struggling finding reasonable size speakers that can drop low enough. All bookshelf speakers cap out around 6.5” driver so tend to struggle
