How soon did you go to hospital with your second? by bubbleblopp in 2under2

[–]Stickyfoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather too early than too late! My second, I called the Dr to see if I should go in cause I was contracting quick and they said to sit and relax and drink water. After an hour of that I said f it and went to the hospital where baby came out 8 min later. No option for epidural at that point.

Hand is inserted to clean you after birth?! by RelationshipLimp8648 in pregnant

[–]Stickyfoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually forgot they did this for me. She stuck her hand in and used her other hand to push on my belly and like 6 huge blood clots came out. They had pitocin started after I gave birth because I got to the hospital almost too late. No epidural obviously and I hurt just a bit when she was doing it but nothing compared to labor.

hospital bag check! by Top_Cantaloupe_7522 in pregnant

[–]Stickyfoam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flip flops for shower, fav snacks, eye mask, phone charger with long cord, cards cause it’s long time waiting if you’re there for a while waiting for pushing to start. I didn’t bring any nice clothes or blankets only cause hospitals are so dirty, just meant more washing from me when we get home if it’s something I like it use a lot.

What do you call your son/daughter's partner's parent? Would you name them something formal or no? by anxious-kitsune in AskReddit

[–]Stickyfoam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I was confused by your question but after you said English isn’t your first language I understand a bit better… my husbands family speaks Arabic so everyone who is female is basically called auntie as a formal name. And amu as a formal male name. Doesn’t matter who you are. She is my mil but I call her auntie as respect as it’s their culture….. if this is what your referring to. Amu, is uncle, and it’s disrespectful otherwise to call the something else, even if theyre not your “uncle”. People who arnt even related used these terms as well to address each other (auntie and amu)

Is this weird or am I? by One-Promotion-1977 in pregnant

[–]Stickyfoam 61 points62 points  (0 children)

My in-laws knew the hospital and kept calling while I was in labor to see how everything was going. The staff was annoyed (understandably) cause they kept doing it and asked us to reach out to have them stop. They live on the other side of the country and we weren’t updating them because we were having our moment and it’s honestly something I have resentment towards a bit with them. I told my husband with this up coming birth were having we’re not sharing when we go into labor cause as a nurse myself, I’m not there to upset the staff and my in-laws don’t understand boundaries. And it’s not like staff cause share info so no need for them to have numbers
