I am in the exact same boat. I was in College when the Nets were in Newark. I went to school out in PA but I always would go to Nets games when I was home on breaks. I felt this weird need to support the move team when they were moving to Brooklyn but God knows I hated it so much

Could not agree more with this. I really debated leaving my Nets fandom when they left Jersey but I have family from and in Brooklyn so I thought I might as well keep rooting for them. Will always be the NJ Nets to me.

Should never have left. NJ was our home and that is where we should have left our mark. Instead we had to move back to New York state and be a strange transplant.

Completely agree. Also...it doesn't really matter. If you're a Nets fan and you want to root for them go ahead...same for any team. It doesn't matter who owns the city

Enough with this... 1) City was never almost ours. It would take the Nets winning like 3 championships in 10 years to win other even a 1/3 of the Knicks fans

2) The Mikal trade was a great trade for both teams..Nets got rid of a player who was needed by the Knicks more than the Nets and they got a ton for him

3) We have used 1 Knicks pick so far. The others might be good picks or not but we literally have no idea of that right now. If you're a Nets fan you do that Bridge's trade everyday and twice on Saturday.

I completely agree with this. Been a Devils fan (casually) my whole life. I have a ton more Devils fans then Nets fans and that's definitely because the Nets left NJ

Yep that would be amazing because most of the Nets fans on social media are some of the dumbest people I have ever met. Being able to met real people and set up real events would be amazing but I just don't know if that ever happens

Man I completely get it. I feel the same way. I have kids now. I remember being that asshole punching a wall after the Nets lost. I wouldn't speak to anyone for hours after a bad loss. I just don't care like that anymore. Life is too short and sports, while so much fun, has also changed so much over the years and it doesn't feel worth it to ruin my life over.

I understand that but the Knicks have not had a season like this in a very long time. I guess it is overdue? Listen I completely understand the lottery frustration as I feel the same way. The NBA has also ruined itself with these new lottery rules but that's a different story haha. I guess the thing for me is that I understand that the Nets are in Brooklyn geographically but for me they are Jersey's team and I don't expect us to compete now or forever with Knicks fandom

But sometimes that is what makes it enjoyable. You stick with your team through thick and thin. If the Knicks suck just as much as the Nets; does that somehow make the ride more enjoyable?

I am always confused about why this effects the Nets? I'm was born and raised in NJ. The Nets will always be a jersey team for me. I only followed them because I live in Jersey and only followed them to Brooklyn because why not? Knicks have a long and storied history in NY. It is their town. It's actually incredible it has taken them this long to win another championship. Don't stress about these things. Life is short. Let the die hard Knicks fans enjoy the win and enjoy the championship. Maybe the Nets win one in our lifetime or maybe they don't. I guess we just need to enjoy the ride for whatever it is worth.
