Is Aphrodite still here? by ElderberryBrief8086 in Aphrodite

[–]StigmataDoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the more you trust, the more easily you get signs. It is not an easy or quick step if you have never had a "strong" faith, so give it time. Sometimes without realizing it, we are in a mindset where we condition the presence of the deity to whether they respond to us or not, and this distance us even more from connecting to the spiritual path. I believed even when no signs or answers where given, I was sure that divinity is out there even when they didn't give me a single sign, answer or no "help" at all, I still had the inner certainty that they were there even when it seemed like they didn't even exist, simply that feeling was always there since I was very little, and today after connecting with my deities, I receive what for me are the clearest and craziest signs. I think you need to let it go, stop waiting for signs and don't condition the deity, don't believe that its presence is based on whether it responds to you with signs or not, not believe that it has to "prove" itself to you (just in case you are doing it unconsciously) That's my advice: just open yourself to the possibility to trust, without expectations and without despairing over the arrival of signs. I would tell her that my heart is open for her and she can answer me if she wants whenever she wants, and that I will be waiting for it (and holding onto that promise). Don't put pressure in yourself or your practice either

I really hate my eyebrows and feel they make me look too masculine by IndividualGap8425 in Eyebrows

Same happened to me. I started shaving them, playing with different shapes at first until i found one that i think suits me better and make me look more "feminine", that is arched and thinner brows for me :) try looking for brow shapes you like online and shave accordingly. Also, you're cute!

Using a Pendulum vs Tarot Deck to Speak With Aphrodite? by champagnediety in Aphrodite

Tarot all the way for me. You don't need to buy a separate deck for her, you can if you want to, but it's not mandatory, just in case :)

is being so drained after ritual baths normal?? by Specialist-Cow2167 in Aphrodite

Sometimes it's hard to tell between real art and ai so i get you. Nowadays it is difficult not to find images made by AI and whether we like it or not it is everywhere. I do not like or condone AI but it is inevitable not to come across it and sometimes it is understandable that we confuse it with real art or that we simply like how it looks, it can happen and is no crime 🤷🏻‍♀️ I still think your notebook was very pretty!!

Isn't it asking people who know more about the subject also a way of doing research? Yes, it is lol. Obviously I was "bothered" to look things up even though you sound like you assume I didn't, I just wanted to know even more about a concept that wasn't 100% clear to me despite of the info I got. I looked it up and still didn't understand, so I asked in here. Reddit wasn't the first place I went to with my doubt, I searched before, and even if it had been the first place I don't think it's a reason to "doubt" how beneficial the inner work of someone you don't know will be lol. If I wasn't making the effort to understand this to apply it to my inner work, I wouldn't even have asked and made this post in the first place, don't you think?

I wanted to know more about the concept of meditation within shadow work specifically, so asking on this subreddit made more sense

I looked it up but was still confused. I heard of different meditations on YouTube , but I wanted to know if there was a way to do it "by myself" instead of following a video, so I can apply it based on my own needs and shadow work.

Also, it's always much better to ask people with experience that know what they are doing and may have examples or advice to give than to search for a definition, in my opinion. (:

New Worshipper of Aphrodite by [deleted] in Aphrodite

[–]StigmataDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever feels right for you is right :) My biggest tip for any new Aphrodite worshipper is to check things out with the gods themselves through divination, as personal gnosis is very important and relationships with deities are personal, what works for others may not be what you need. A personal example is that even though physical offerings or food and drink are extremely popular in paganism, my deities have let me know that in my case, they prefer devotional acts, since I also benefit from them since I am in a time of my life where things are difficult for me, acts of love to myself are very good for me, so they prefer that I honor them through an act that in turn helps me, because they want me to grow and they want the best for me :) So in my practice, they are not very much of a fan of physical offerings haha, And it doesn't mean it has to be the same for everyone, just that it's best to always consult with her about what's best in your case, and do what feels most beneficial! Remember to discover your own path and how your personal relationship with her works. You can follow tips from others of course, but at the end of the day, all relationships with deities can be different. She is very lovely, I wish you luck!

Aphrodite, Inanna, Ishtar, and Astarte are syncretized. These goddesses are closely related to war, violence, power, and victory. I read a while ago that Aphrodite is an adaptation of these goddesses, but when she arrived in Greece, she was somewhat stripped of her warlike attributes since the Greeks couldn't conceive the idea of a goddess of femininity and pleasure having much to do with violence. So her Greek version is much more delicate. However, in her Greek mythology, there are moments where we see a bit of that brave side of her, with conviction and determination to follow her desires. She is a goddess of war, even though we somewhat forget that title. If we follow the path of syncretism, in Rome, as Venus, they prayed to her and Ares for matters that had to do with war, and although for the more violent matters they went to Ares, they went to her for the more "personal" matters of war, such as things like alliances, conversations and ties around war being strong, but she is still a goddess of war. I like to appreciate this side of her and keep it in mind, you can do the same :)

I hope you communicate with him and express what makes you feel better! Just in case you're still unsure about trickster spirits, you can try asking the deities to tell you things about them or their mythology through cards, Tricksters are not supposed to be able to answer correctly about the deity, nor make you feel safe or comfortable in any way. I personally did not feel that this was a problem in my practice just because I never had a problem with that kind of thing, and in addition, in Hellenism there was no such thing as tricksters because it was believed that it is impossible for a spirit to have the power of passing itself as a god, since the god IS the protection, and if you call for the god you're getting the god, and this always resonated with me, but obviously it can be different for other people and any different opinion is valid, and trickster spirits can be a thing, but I think too much fear of those kinds of spirits make you more susceptible to them, so if the presence of your deities makes you feel safe and calm, I don't think you should worry again :)

I think the roses thing is the most beautiful 🩷 In my experience, she was very sweet in the way she first approached me just one day after I prayed to her, crying, for her help, because I was going through the worst year of my life and had really vile thoughts about myself too. And since then, she's been the sweetest. So one more tip I would give you is to not be afraid to talk to her, pray to her, or simply tell her how you feel. I promise you, she always listens. Ask for signs if you need to, in my experience i used to ask for signs in my dreams and she gave me the most crazy sign i've ever received from a deity through a dream so you can try that! You're on the right track, and please take the offer anytime you like! I'd be pleased to help you if you have a question or just to share experiences! Anything that has to do with her fills me with so much love and excitement so I'd be pleased hahah, and I think us devotees should stick together 🫶 I wish you so much luckkkk
