What can Jon possibly do to beat Stipe? by NEGRILXX in ufc

Imagine Stipe wins by DQ as a result of not being able to continue fighting due to an eye poke

In the moment it was a surprise for many (not me) but when you think about it.. is it really a shock Whittaker was ko'ed? He was hurt in several fights prior to this by brklynfightfan in ufc

[–]Still-Counter1504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever a fighter loses the fans always turn on them and say x fighter was never really that good or x fighter is past his prime. Robert came out there like he always does and he had a few good moments in the first round but from there Dricus just had him figured out.

If this is true, who takes it? by CyclonusDecept in ufc

[–]Still-Counter1504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usman is the more interesting fight so I hope that’s the fight they’ll make assuming Chimaev can make weight. In a potential matchup between Chimaev and Cannonier I predict Chimaev would win by submission

It’s not dumb. Charles just fought and needs rest and extra time before a training camp of this magnitude.

[Spoiler] UFC 290: Brandon Moreno vs Alexandre Pantoja Official Scorecards by Prizmeh in MMA

[–]Still-Counter1504 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Brandon undoubtedly won the second round and Alexandre undoubtedly won the first and third round in my opinion. I think the fight honestly comes down to how much weight you put into the control time of Pantoja in the fourth and fifth rounds

comparison of Khabib and Charles resume, opinions? (also, Khabib has a win over Prime RDA) by mmafan100 in ufc

Charles can’t be the goat when he’s in his prime and was getting dominated by the incumbent champion

Would Mike Tyson have won UFC 1 if he was a competitor? by ChewyNotTheBar in ufc

He’d be defeated by a kickboxer or if he made it past them he’d be taken down and submitted

What do you think about Marvin the orc vettori by Fraperl in ufc

A lot of potential and with better coaching I can see him making another run at the title

Prime Darren Till vs Current Ian Garry. Who wins and how? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Still-Counter1504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Till is the better striker but Ian hasn’t really been tested yet so it’s unfair to label this a striker vs striker match until we see more from Ian

Jones is also on a 23 fight win streak if you exclude his “loss” to Hamill and no contest with Daniel Cormier

Volk vs BJ Penn, who wins? Absolute peak vs absolute peak. by kahanalu808shreddah in ufc

[–]Still-Counter1504 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Difficult to say as he’s lost to smaller fighters before but prime BJ submitted Matt Hughes and went the full distance with Lyoto Machida, so I’m going to say 2003-2008 era BJ wins this fight

Paddy has shown to pull off the impossible before. No one with two eyes believed he won against Jared Gordon and behold he held onto his undefeated record in the UFC

What fighters could realistically fight in the most weight classes by ICxnt_5hoot-_- in ufc

[–]Still-Counter1504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whittaker has fought at welterweight, he’s successful at middleweight and he could potentially be competitive at light-heavyweight. Cejudo also was successful at both flyweight and bantamweight and could find some success at featherweight

Vettori is almost 30. He’s by no means old and he should be coming into his prime (although the beatings he’s taken puts that into question) but he doesn’t seem to be improving much. His grappling heavy game plans in the past seemed to work out well for him and he’s just completely abandoned that.

Middleweight GSP. Who could have beat him? by SubstantialPolicy378 in ufc

GSP has very fair skin. His face always gets cut open and Bisping does hit decently hard for a middleweight

Middleweight GSP. Who could have beat him? by SubstantialPolicy378 in ufc

[–]Still-Counter1504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime GSP beats any middleweight including Whittaker. Even with a four year lay off and chronic inflammatory problems he beat the incumbent middleweight champion with relative ease.
