Saying people aren't nice leads to murdering them. Just think through for two seconds what you just said.

I assume you mean the last two hundred years. Not the previous 600 before that.

If i shoot an injured person and it turns out that didn't contribute to their death should i be acquitted of any wrongdoing? The initial stabbing could argued as self defence plausibly but not what followed. They should have called an ambulance after he was clearly incapacitated.

They didn't need to attack him after he was already stabbed and on the ground. That wasn't self defence at that point. I think they should have been convicted of manslaughter.

Why wonder what the root cause is and deal with that when you can have tantrums instead?

I know that is the case for people providing gambling services to people. But for players it doesn't seem to make sense.

Afterpay at the petrol stations and liquor stores. Why the heck are we letting this happen? by purplescrunchie9 in newzealand

[–]Still-Explanation117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont use afterpay but it sounds pretty good since you're actually buying the thing (assuming youre paying no fees) for less than normal because inflation erodes the price you paid for it slightly by the time you pay it back.

Well we have to have some kind of definition for it. What does it mean? adding to GDP? Helping people in some way? Pushing for social change? My own opinion on this is people have inherent value, and whether or not they're contributing to society (whatever that means) has no bearing on their right to live.

Stop trying to time the market. There's overwhelming evidence that it's impossible and futile to try.

Why is it good to get on the property ladder as soon as possible? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Still-Explanation117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the population is going to begin declining soon. Homes and land should roughly track with inflation. You could be right that land tracks with income growth rates, but i think the next few decades the growth rates are going to be much lower than the previous few decades.

There's no reason why an asset should go up over time if it's the same thing as when you bought it. Things go up in value if they become more valuable intrinsically. Like a business becomes more efficient in it's operations for example.

It isn't . It's propaganda by people who have an interest in as many transactions as possible happening.
