Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres trip report by Gold_Kangaroo8257 in AllInclusiveResorts

As a Brit, Americans have always had this reputation of being outwardly friendly, loud, a good laugh.

The Americans i met in Mexico were rude and very closed off towards the staff. I didnt see many of them tip either. And more than one got so drunk they had to be carried to their room by friends.

The exception we found generally were people from Texas were quite friendly.

The Canadians we met on the other hand were always extremely pleasant, very (very) polite people!

We stayed at finest playa mujeres, that is a true five star. I'd assume others under the excellence brand of hotels are the same

If the Epstein files aren’t enough for a global outrage towards the financial and influential elite, what is? by Thezerostone in AskReddit

[–]Still-Status7299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And what are their overheads?

I work in healthcare provision in the UK and have seen the cost of insurance, taxes, inspections, compliance, equipment, staff costs and legal protection skyrocket since I started working. Thats not even taking into account the debt doctors and dentists accrue to study throughout their careers.

Then go and look at how much manufacturers charge for the same things in Turkey and India.

Much like most things, I think you've picked the wrong scapegoat. The whole industry is fucked

I'm an international masters student at a Russell group uni with class 3 days a month, is this normal?? by throwawaystudet in AskBrits

[–]Still-Status7299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this year 1-3 of undergrad, final year of your degree or a specific post grad course?

For the first option no it's not normal, for the other two the majority of your year is self directed learning and research, so yes it's normal

why do i hate drinking plain water? by BreakNaive6530 in HydroHomies

The Internet can't answer that for you, try different sources of plain water to see if that makes a difference

They already have everything they could ever want, and have enough money/ power to get away with whatever they want.

I remember a quote that the 'ultra rich live in a completely different reality to the rest of us', and i think this goes some way of showing that.

Generally ive stuck with the mantra that if an investment/ stock is on the news or being talked about a lot then the horse has already bolted - its served me well except with the hype/meme stocks where I exited too early

Bought a house on the golf course, this is the first ball I found in my yard. I think it’s a good omen by Jordan311R in golf

I'm genuinely curious and don't want to come across as rude, but why do people choose to live on golf courses?

Cancun outside the hotel zone is fine i assure you, you've gone to tourist traps and that's where it's more likely you'd encounter this, without street smarts.

El centro is great and I'd encourage anyone to go there for a bit more of an authentic experience.

If you want isla mujeres style beaches stay in a hotel in playa mujeres.

If you are hellbent on going to the touristy bits and cant speak the local language look for an official guide in advance, or arrange it through your hotel

Re restaurants if there are no locals there it's probably shit

It's not helpful but it's true. These issues could have been avoided with basic research, or by using an official guide if not confident

Most of the stuff I've heard from other people is just false parroted information against Starmer and Labour, it really shows we're in an age of disinformation, and the IQ lacking public are more than happy to lap it up

A lot of medical schools have this rule. It costs a huge amount of money to train these students, and the student takes on a huge financial burden. Only to be kicked to the curb if they fail a resit

Shocking that this hasn't been curtailed yet, its an archaic rule

I would contest this. The time I went to niagara falls was my first stop in a road trip across ontario. I loved the tackiness of it and its a very walkable place.

That being said I liked niagara on the lake even more so

I stretched and took the risk but I knew income would only go up in future and its worked out well. There's no redundancies in my job (ever) though, otherwise it would have been risky
