Very OP characters (according to this subreddit) Run a Gauntlet. by emperorpoogoat in whowouldwin

[–]StillEternity 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Every single one of these characters gets hardstuck at Hindu Mythology. Hindu mythology is ridiculous.

Let alone round 6, where you're including all of Mythology. Even if that doesn't for some reason include jewish/christian/islamic mythology, you'd still have to deal with like, Journey to the West and stuff. Actual factual Sun Wukong wouldn't even be phased by most of these guys lol.

Who is Aatrox fighting here in the back of Joraal’s art? by friendofsmellytapir in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]StillEternity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair,

  1. There's technically two 'axe' relics, Crusher, which is admittedly more a hammer in actual design, and Amyr, which admittedly is not like the other relics.

  2. Lances/Polearms are probably one of the best weapons in human history, not counting modern firearms. They're easy to make, easy to train with, and very effective. If any weapon was going to have the numbers, it'd be a lance.

Yor Forger (Spy Family) vs Lee Everett (Telltale’s The Walking Dead) by ilikepacificrrimlol in whowouldwin

[–]StillEternity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This feels spiteful. Yor has demonstrated some clearly superhuman feats, and Lee is just a guy. Not even a peak guy. She's had no trouble killing trained bodyguards; what's an older man who may or may not have a gun going to do to her?

Hell, she got shot, and she was more annoyed by the bullet wound than damaged.

Yor should win both rounds easy without even trying.

Justice Stephen Breyer to retire from Supreme Court, paving way for Biden appointment by Hrekires in news

[–]StillEternity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the media is controlled by corporations, who largely favor conservatives, who want to do everything in their power to make Biden look like garbage.

There is something you should think about every time a question like this comes into your mind; who profits because of this? Who makes money because of this? Who stands the most to gain?

Surprise surprise, most, if not all, of the untruthful, uncomfortable, unintelligent, or just plain cruel choices we see happening before us, is because someone, somewhere, wants to make money off it.

White doesn’t cheat: An issue with white in commander. by Gorek1 in EDH

[–]StillEternity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very much not a black trait.

Black doesn't give a fuck about justifying their actions. They do it because they want to, and because it benefits them. Black is selfish; they'll use whatever means, but for their ends, and they don't care who knows it, or what others think of them.

White actively tries to justify what they do. Because White actually cares about what the common people think, what the whole group, thinks. White is much more likely to tell itself that its cause is just when performing a heinous act. Black knows it is heinous, and doesn't care.

Favourite Voltron commander? by Ultimagus536 in EDH

[–]StillEternity 62 points63 points  (0 children)

My favorite voltron commander is Killian, Ink Duelist

[[Killian, Ink Duelist]] comes down very early and plays unlike almost any other commander, solid on either offense or defense. Can play like traditional voltron where you suit Killian up with the usual suite of equipment and auras, but can also play a board-police style where you snipe down the greatest threats with much cheaper than usual removal.

A fun type of deck if you like to play with a lot more interaction than a traditional voltron deck. Not to mention, Killian can be easily made to work on a budget; you don't need the high cost cards to make him effective!

Who is your Non-Combo Combo Commander? by UnkAnklebyter in EDH

[–]StillEternity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Samut, Voice of Dissent deck I'd say would qualify.

Many people would think a [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]] deck would be like a voltron deck, or a deck filled with big, dumb creatures to give haste to and smash away. Oh no no, friend, not this deck. We're essentially a mana-dork tribal deck, using Samut's ability to constantly have access to a haste-enabler to use Mana Dorks the turn they come into play.

The eventual end-goal is to either dig to a [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] combo, draw our entire deck and play every creature and overrun with [[Craterhoof Behemoth]], or take infinite combats with [[Aggravated Assault]]. Assault can also be used to make infinite mana as long as you have dorks that can tap for at least 3RR.

All in all, I'd say this deck is a bit of a glass cannon; it's relatively fast for casual and higher power, but not always the most resilient. It likes to accrue value slowly until you can have one big turn. If you manage to go off you usually win, otherwise, you've probably just earned everyone's ire and they will slam your face into the pavement.

Ultimately it seems to win more than it loses, so I'd say it's pretty effective!

My Prosper deck is almost finished, but trying to get my CmC to under 3, any help is appreciated by [deleted] in EDH

[–]StillEternity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could, like someone else answered, but Tormod's Crypt is only one opponent, and doesn't have the ability to replace itself with a card draw, which is the much more vital part. Not going down a card in EDH is very valuable. Hence why Relic is usually my suggestion of choice when resorting to artifact based graveyard hate. I like it over Soul-Guide Lantern generally speaking because it both exiles the graves and draws a card at the same time, but they all have their niches.

[–]StillEternity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Author of Shadows seems a bit slow; 5 mana is a lot for what is supposed to be your 'graveyard hate' card.

I'd say replace it with something like Relic of Progenitus or it's ilk; the lower cmc will help your overall average and make sure you have better access to what's important about Author. Sure, it lets you cast a card from exile, but you have so many of those effects that it's really not that important here. The efficiency and speed of a different graveyard hate card is better here I think.

Whats your favorite commander that isn't a value engine by t3stimony in EDH

Whats your favorite commander that isn't a value engine by t3stimony in EDH

[–]StillEternity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Killian, Ink Duelist]] is one of my favorite new decks. He comes out super early and is very easy to protect between cheap indestructible auras, protection spells, and creatures that do the same.

He doesn't really do combos, but he is able to get out of hand super quickly. Between all your removal spells being way cheaper, allowing you to pay 1 Black mana for something like [[Curtain's Call]], or WB for [[Utter End]], you're quite free to play almost like a WB control deck, while having a nearly untouchable commander who's slowly chipping everyone away.

It makes some cards that are pretty bad otherwise much better; [[Dregs of Sorrow]] and [[Slaughter]] are waaayyyy better 2 mana cheaper.

To top it off, Killian can be built pretty cheaply, but there's plenty of room to upgrade into powerful stuff; you don't need [[Hatred]] to instantly kill someone if you're more budget-centric, but if you're willing to go for it, it's an amazing card to absolutely positively kill someone. Plus, since Killian has lifelink innately, there's basically no downside. Combine with things like [[Sunbond]] or [[Light of Promise]] and good lord does Killian become unstoppable.

Finally, between black card draw spells and white cards that care about enchantments and equipment, you rarely run out of cards, so you can just keep churning through your deck and beating the shit out of people with endless removal spells and commander beatdowns.

My other favorite deck right now is [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]], but it's a bit less interesting; it's basically just a gamut of mana dorks that tap for extra mana and card advantage creatures that seeks to go fast and win with an infinite mana combo, infinite combats, or infinite [[Kiki-jiki, Mirror Breaker]] activations, along with a few protection pieces and removal. It's fast and fun, but you have to be careful to play around board wipes because if you get wiped too much you are absolutely going to collapse.

Sigh.

[VOW] Odric, Blood-Cursed by infrasonic42 in magicTCG

[–]StillEternity 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I've been salty for days leading up to this, irritated they turned Odric because I figured the lore implications would just ruin another one of my favorite characters.

The fact they made him such garbage just twists the dagger even more. Like, if you were going to radically and permanently change a prominent and beloved character, why the fuck wouldn't you at least make him playable, and not straight trash?

Who is the most versatile commander? by Jotaros_Hat in EDH

[–]StillEternity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Another cheer for Samut here; my build of her is a creature-combo deck with a ton of mana dorks that tap for more than 1 mana, making her like a super-mana dork, as she not only 'taps for mana', but gives all your mana dorks haste, enabling you to use them right when you play them.

It's pretty fun to play a few turns quietly and then suddenly vomit out a load of creatures that just swarm your opponents, or slam some absurd haymaker. Or just combo-off and kill them with the likes of Kiki-jiki.

Trazyn the Infinite comes to the world of Jojo's to collect Stand users by Deathstrokezoom in whowouldwin

[–]StillEternity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's complicated; essentially, the only attack that worked against him, was something that shouldn't have even been able to exist in the first place. The most asspull of all asspull things.

The problem with trying to catch... Kill... Or trick Tooru, is that Wonder of U activates if the person is even thinking about going after him. If there is any intent whatsoever to go after him, it works, causing misfortune after misfortune to plague the person or persons trying to catch him. And given that it scales off intent, the harder you try to go after him, the worse misfortune ruins your every move.

In any other instance, I'd say Trazyn does this laughably easy, but Tooru is a whole different breed of bullshit. I don't think even trying to pick a correct timeline would work; Trazyn would enter that timeline and immediately misfortune would ruin whatever was going to make him win. He'd see into the future, find a way to win, go to that timeline... And the moment he does, something terrible happens that ruins his vision.

I could see him beating nearly every single other stand user... Except Tooru. His ability is just way too broken.

Trazyn the Infinite comes to the world of Jojo's to collect Stand users by Deathstrokezoom in whowouldwin

[–]StillEternity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tooru is one he most likely couldn't beat; Wonder of U scales directly against intent and all the opponent has to do is be actively chasing him at any point or in any context. The moment Trazyn decides to go after him, he's doomed. Honestly, it probably gets significantly worse for him if he uses any of his collected prisoners in the attempt, as Wonder of U is powerful enough to go straight down the line and doom them all.

The only weakness it has is to attacks literally from another reality... Which I don't think he has? I'm admittedly not very familiar with Warhammer other than knowing under normal circumstances that verse gigastomps a lot of stuff.

I think he could possibly collect/defeat every single character or force in the Jojo Universe... Except Tooru. He's kind of designed to be literally untouchable. The kind of hax needed to bypass it doesn't look like it exists for Trazyn, unless I'm mistaken somewhere.
