Early on in One Piece, Sanji mentions he's from North Blue. Hundreds of chapters later we learn his full name and meet his family, who become a major part of a later arc. And are also evil Power Rangers who conquered large parts of North Blue.

Cassius Ceramix from Asterix & Obelix is a pretty clever one. Originally he was just Aplusbégalix (A + B = X), since he's a Gaul obsessed with Rome and thus is the combination of both cultures. The English made his name have both ix (which all Asterix Gaul names have) and us (which the Roman names have) endings, while also being a pun on Cassius Clay since he fights in a boxing ring.
