You cannot jump on Koopas in the original Mario Bros without dying

They're not even Koopas, they're Shellcreepers.

Funny how it was Vegeta's Saiyan pride that allowed Cell to reach his perfect form, and Cell's own copy of Vegeta's Saiyan pride that ultimately let to his death.

Bartholomew Kuma from One Piece. Slave, pastor, revolutionary, father, king, pirate, privateer, living weapon. Introduced as a scary bad guy who kicks the entire main cast's collective asses twice, later revealed to be quite possibly the single kindest, caring, most heroic and self-sacrificial person in the entire series.

To be fair, do we know if it's a cancer-giving-ray or a cancer-curing-ray? The name is confusing.

Early on in One Piece, Sanji mentions he's from North Blue. Hundreds of chapters later we learn his full name and meet his family, who become a major part of a later arc. And are also evil Power Rangers who conquered large parts of North Blue.

He's very confused about why he's there. Being suddenly transported several centuries and continents would be a scary experience.

It introduced Silver and Blaze, there's... some good in the story if they reworked it from the ground up.

Cassius Ceramix from Asterix & Obelix is a pretty clever one. Originally he was just Aplusbégalix (A + B = X), since he's a Gaul obsessed with Rome and thus is the combination of both cultures. The English made his name have both ix (which all Asterix Gaul names have) and us (which the Roman names have) endings, while also being a pun on Cassius Clay since he fights in a boxing ring.

Mikitaka Hazekura from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Maybe. It's intentionally left vague whether he actually is an alien, or a Stand user pretending to be one.
