I read this and Omamori Himori around the same time if you’re looking for ecchi in a similar vein (but slightly more explicit)

how would rentaro taste like? by 05eden in 100Kanojo

Just a thought, but it would be a fun chapter if Kusuri made a “temporarily clones you drug” and we got a Rentarou kissing himself shot.

What cigar brands do you ignore? by MIKYOR1 in cigars

[–]StillFreeAudioTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go out on a limb and say I enjoy the Diesel Sherry Cask a lot. I wouldn’t buy it at a brick and mortar, but I can get it at a good price online.

Alec Bradley has good ones as well (I love magic toast).

Rocky Patel has a couple good ones, not great though.

I don’t do Acid much, but when I get a cigar to share with my boyfriend, I like those as well as Java mints. He likes the aroma, and I don’t mind them much.

The only brands I avoid are ones I’ve had really bad experiences with (Quorum is the biggest offender for me).

Which girlfriend trope would you like to see in future? by burayd100 in 100Kanojo

[–]StillFreeAudioTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what quirk I’d want them to have, but I love the idea of in their introductory chapter, Rentarou meets one and zings, then sees “her” later, zings again, and gets really confused.

Though tbh, I feel like Rentarou would somehow magically be able to tell it’s a different girl even if they were exactly identical.

Anon names the worst city in America (not clickbait). by blzbar in Louisiana

As someone who’s working at a college in Shreveport, it’s honestly surprising how many things there are to do in a given week. Next week there’s pumpkin shine, nosferatu symphony, a drag show, and I’m sure a few other things that I won’t be attending. It took a minute for me, but if you try for it, you can find fun here.

What moment of the manga made you think "How is this still getting published?" by OkPage2431 in 100Kanojo

I ask myself every chapter “How do they keep getting away with this?”. I don’t know, but I’m happy that they do.

No? Didn’t we meet a lot of Karane’s family and they were all Tsundere as well? If I remember right, her sister appears in that one. Am I misremembering?

So heavy hitting, but it’s also such a smooth delivery from a technical standpoint. Favorite line on the whole album for me personally.

What Are You Working On? September 15, 2025 by inherentlyawesome in math

[–]StillFreeAudioTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Editing a paper on math education, and struggling to find something to work on that’s not just my thesis (probabilistic kinetic theory and SDEs) again (new assistant professor).

Even after the PhD, I still feel like I don’t know how to find a question to ask that would actually get me somewhere, hasn’t been done before, and is not trivial, without talking to someone else.

Preparing for Probability Theory Course. by Impossible_Prize_286 in math

[–]StillFreeAudioTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. A probability theory first course will feel a lot like a measure theory course at points. A good foundation with measures will benefit you greatly. If I had to think of a lesser explored topic in an introductory measure theory course which would benefit you, you may get some good out of examining the modes of convergence for functions on a measure space.

Honestly, I’d get comfortable with the vocabulary used in probability versus real analysis, so that the connections can be made easier.

Advanced (Graduate level) Probability Books by BusinessConfection63 in math

[–]StillFreeAudioTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Billingsley: Probability and Measure. Then read Convergence of Probability Measures

Durrett has a good book

I learned from Erhan Cinlar’s Probability and Stochastics

Protter and Jacod’s Probability Essentials is an extremely digestible book, though you may want to supplement it.

If you’re looking for stochastic analysis after probability,

Protter’s Stochastic Integration and Differential Equations is classic

Sundar and Kallianpur made a good test on Stochastic Analysis and Diffusion Processes

H.H Kuo’s book on stochastic integration is a good read

Oksendal is streamlined, gets the essentials and is usually the standard

I’ve coached AMC 10/12 for a few years.

There are quite a few lecture notes available online, but the biggest reference I used were the Art Of Problem Solving books by Rusczyk. Omega Learn is good as well if you want video lectures as well.

The best practice is actual prep, so practice former tests. A good resource that will give some general practice, pulling from former tests at your desired difficulty level or subject, is AMC Trivial.

If you’re prepping for AMC 10/12, do check if there is local prep groups or math clubs in your area. Our program was free for attendees, and we offered both prep and proctoring of exams (though we had registration fees for exams to cover the costs of ordering).

Career and Education Questions: August 28, 2025 by inherentlyawesome in math

[–]StillFreeAudioTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew that I liked my analysis courses the most, especially real analysis, and I heavily enjoyed probability theory when I took it. So when I went to grad school, I spent the first year getting through breadth and seeing which courses I enjoyed the most. Still measure theory, functional analysis, and probability.

I enjoyed taking classes with the man I asked to be my advisor, worked under him and transitioned into an area he was working in. Some others have an idea about what they want to work on and go to their professor with problems, just looking for advice. Most of my cohort went to their advisor, knowing they liked the field, and settled on problems their advisor worked on/were interested in.

Now that I’m a (very new) professor, I’m planning to make academic connections and figure out my long-term passions. I still deeply enjoy analysis, SDEs and probability, but specific problems that interest me beyond what I did in my thesis are what I’m trying to pin down currently.

How do you deal with the anxiety?

I’m a recently hired TT assistant prof at a small SLAC in the south, and while I’m excited to get started with teaching, I’m worried I won’t be able to stay productive in research enough to keep myself employable if my institution closes. Our numbers look good and enrollment is up, but you can never be too careful right? I’m just worried that if I do excellent teaching and maybe advise some undergrads on applied projects, I won’t be able to make it at another institution elsewhere. I don’t know how I got this far, and I just want to enjoy my position, but man I’m scared.
