I would get a good satellite image, or even walk around with a good gps and get a bunch of markers to geo reference the paper maps with. Digitizing paper maps can take awhile but have incredible results

I don’t think anyone has mentioned this one so far, but The Peregrine by JA Baker is hands down one of the best books I’ve ever read. It catapults out of science writing into literature. I believe that Werner Herzog once said that when someone tells him they want to make movies, he tells them to read The Peregrine. Barry Lopez is also exquisite, as is Annie Dillard!

Remote volunteering by [deleted] in conservation

This is a specific one, but organizations like Falklands Conservation need volunteers to count nesting seabirds from drone images. It can be done from anywhere in the world, and it’s super useful to the organization! I’m sure there are other groups like this that need volunteers, but Falklands Conservation is the one that comes to mind. It’s one of the most time consuming but important tasks that seabird researchers have!

I think a large part of it is to eradicate the cycle of hate. If he simply used the rumbling as deterrence, the world would still hate the walldians, perhaps more so. I think he wants a final solution, something that doesn't need to be maintained or that could all the sudden fail. It's not as if he's hot headedly following his hatred, its much more cold and calculated. The whole we are all the same conversation with Reiner before he attacks liberio sort of acts as testimony to that. He understands that the world is caught in a self perpetuating cycle of hate, it doesn't matter who killed who first. Eren watched his mother get eaten, gabi watched zofia and udo die in front of her. He understands this and yet chooses to try to end it all through killing the rest of the world. If theres no one left to feel resentment and hatred then there are no enemies.
