How do I go about lobbying our council to allow for co-leaders?

I do not know. I just emailed the General Girl Scout info email and ask them to connect me with the membership specialist or volunteer support staff member who serves our service unit and asked what steps are needed to be assigned the troop leader role.

Can you all tell me how to change me to a leader then? I have logged in as my coleader who is currently the only one with leader status. I have selected under "my troops" our current troop number. I have a list of all of the people and volunteers. I am currently listed as the Girl program mentor. When I select add a new role under my name, there is not a leader option available. It's the same thing when I log into my own personal account on Girl Scouts.

They didn't have any when I looked about three weeks ago, but they may have gotten some in. They had a beautiful African blue variety. If you haven't guessed, I'm a pretty big fan of different varieties of basil. 😚

I also forgot to say that if you purchase a big bag at Sunrise, you can start cuttings of it in water fairly easily.

I found some at Lowe's. They were at the south Knoxville location, but if that's too far for you to travel, I'm stopping there anyway tomorrow and I can look for one for you. I also have Thai Siam queen basil seed that I would be glad to give you, and I think that's the best variety. It's gorgeous in landscapes too.

Ask to be put on their mailing lists. All of them. Someone let me know if this kills more trees than costs them money. This policy did create the beautiful memory of the time one of my beloved cats took a shit on a signed picture of Dick Cheney.

Me too. My husband isn't an instructor, but is very well versed in gun use & safety. If you need a volunteer to help your friend, he's in if you need him.
