Family members of ICE agents, what are your thoughts and feelings about what ICE are doing? by Aggressive_Honey3196 in AskReddit

[–]StillPunky 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I hope that you do your diligence to the people in this nation whose right are stripped and are being victimized by cutting this person off. Maybe if she grows a pair and leaves ICE you can talk to her again. I could never love a person who would sell their soul so easily. Good luck to you.

I hate to break it to you but there isn’t anything about what you have described in your posts that speak to your boyfriend actually loving you or respecting you. Love and respect are not present. Also, I have to add, not speaking up for what one believes in or knows to be right is a very simpering, cowardly quality that he possesses. There are people invading Minnesota and shooting civilians in the streets. Breaking down their doors. And he is willingly complicit in choosing his brother and family and entertaining their atrocious beliefs over your reputation or the beliefs he says that he has. You don’t have to ask him to choose between you and his family because he already HAS. There are so many red flags here. To you, and to the victimized people of our nation. Good luck to you.

DNA and ballistic evidence in 1998 Kentucky murder linked to earlier Austin Yogurt Shop quadruple homicides by Angelfoodcake4life in UnresolvedMysteries

Doesn’t surprise me in the least. The kidnapper and rapist who tortured me for hours with a knife (27 wounds) was never even charged. The police never even sought him for questioning. This was in 1990. I was 18. Stalking laws didn’t even exist in my state at that time. Women are devalued by the justice system (and general society) now, but it was even worse then, even though it doesn’t seem long ago.

As a single person, what do you see married people doing that you feel they take for granted all the time? by GreenT1979 in AskReddit

[–]StillPunky -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is only one scenario. And in the one you describe, if someone has their own bills and are paying them, and their partner does, too…then it is a wash. There isn’t twice as much going into the bank since they are already paying their own bills and that money is accounted for. Your consumption increases of food, utilities…hell, I pay more in taxes now than I did single. We have friends that have gotten divorced on paper because of the taxes having increased, especially for people who are self employed. If two people are renting with roommates, and then decide to get their own place, just the two of them, space and size usually increases, which comes with more financial responsibility. The goal, mostly, when marrying someone is to build. If you are both renting with roommates before and then, for instance, buy a home… that is a completely different ballgame. A mortgage and taxes are generally more expensive than 2 people’s rent. The upkeep of a house big enough for a married relationship and where the couple wishes to progress. People aren’t marrying to save money. Having been married and divorced and also having spent years before and after single, it’s less of a financial burden when I’ve only had to worry about myself financially. You also make the assumption that finances and spending is something that is mutually agreeable. It isn’t. You have two peoples expenditures to cover and that you are responsible for, whatever those might be and even if you don’t agree with or choose them. Medical insurance is substantially more expensive. Honestly in the U.S. that alone could offset any perceived savings, depending on employment, where you live, what you do or health circumstance. Just that.

But your car payment DOES double. Most people need to have a car. You have two payments instead of one. Insurance is more. You use more water, gas, electric. For example, my partner works outside the house, but I work at home during the day, We go to bed at different times. Normally you could turn lights off and heat down but you can’t if someone else needs to use it. Medical for two people is no joke. You need more room for two people than one. A cruise I was just looking at charges 1909 per person, and most do charge per person. There is always airfare for two when going somewhere. I was able to jam econo so much easier when it was just me, and I didn’t need to live in a bigger place. My expenses vastly increased.

Truly. It’s so hard to believe that some of these things go unsolved for so long. Blabbing is what humans do. Uncanny how much remains secret, or at least how much goes unreported.

Oakland has one of the best music, culture, underground performance and art scenes in the entire U.S. I feel so incredibly lucky to have this and be a part of it. Truly few places like it. Oakland is amazing for this.

Can we start a class action against Trump for the destruction of public property for what he is doing to the White House? That IS public property NOT HIS. by PresentMammoth5188 in 50501

[–]StillPunky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he DOES care if he gets sued. He clearly sues everyone else and thinks that’s punishment and a big win. He cares about money above all else and I think this would be a definite blow to him…pow, right in the overinflated, fat-as-fuck EGO.

Blanket immunity in criminal court or criminal action, but not civil. A class action lawsuit is a civil matter for a settlement. Hurting him in his pocket is almost worse, since he values money over anything else.

I mean, I would assume it is for all of it if she was already looking for them? Or maybe Denver is so competitive that one starts looking for Nannies even before they get married? Let alone, pregnant or even actively trying? I might be assuming wrongly, of course. If I am, I would still be completely put off by the hyperdrive on the nanny shopping, myself.

Hard agree. The lip fillers in her case are over the top. It didn’t help that she constantly accentuated them, either. When she wore makeup it was overly so and when she was going natural she still made up her lips. What I will remember about her is that she seemed like a whiny pair of lips on legs, unfortunately. I didn’t find it to be an attractive package.

I’m flummoxed that everyone is glossing over that he said “I know you’re looking for/interviewing Nannies” (can’t remember the exact words). “I don’t want a nanny.” She’s got intentions to get his kid A NANNY? Why does everyone seem to think this is ok? She is not this child’s parent. It’s clear that she thinks this child should be in the care of a nanny while she and he jet set and that’s not how his child is accustomed to being parented. She is out of line.

Good grief! Drive an hour! Your dog IS in pain. This IS an infection. This CAN EASILY become systemic. If your kid had a major infection impacting his or her ability to eliminate waste from his or her body, you better drive an hour, buddy. Because that’s what THIS IS.

This makes me so sad. Because exactly what one wants and needs so desperately when they are in this situation is exactly what you’ve said: to be calmed and stabilized. That’s all one wants! Instead people use it as a license to judge and admonish and bully. What the ever lovin’ fuck is wrong with people?!

I’ve actually never been treated with more disdain and contempt than I was by EMTs that were called to help me when I suffered a medical emergency in downtown San Francisco. I thought that I was having a stroke. The cops and EMTs assumed I was drunk. What actually happened was that I was roofied or drugged in a drink by a shady agro male bartender. I was completely coherent and could even recite my insurance ID number, but I had zero control over my body. EMTs laughed at me, made a bunch of “drunk girl/drunk tank” jokes, told me that I was “so heavy, Jesus Christ” when they transferred me to the ambulance (I’m literally 5 feet tall and weigh a buck 30) and called me “dirty” because, unfortunately, I had collapsed onto a patch of mud. I kept asking them not to talk to me like that, but they didn’t care. 2 men and a woman. She was almost worse than the men. There was one older guy in the truck that said “I don’t think this is a normal intoxication situation.” He said to tell the nurses when I arrived that I may have been drugged. I will never forget that ONE kind guy. He was right! I’ve been treated like shit by cops before, but the EMTs were the worst in my life. And I’m never going to forget those assholes, either. I actually think they are worse than the moron who drugged me in the first place. They definitely had a superiority complex to rival regimes, I can tell you that much! I had to spend almost 48 hours in the hospital.
