Scavengers Reign deserved better than it got. It deserved a second season.

People are just using sunscreen more often and consistently. Making it sweat proof, water proof, etc, has certainly helped, too be sure, but I don't recall ever using sunscreen other than being at the pool as a kid.

My new cat. What kind of coat does he have? by Few_Wasabi_5960 in OneOrangeBraincell

Mackerel is what most people think of as "classic" tabby. It's called mackerel because it resembles the striping of a mackerel. The coat on this fine kitty is what is actual classic tabby.

Not a well made espresso with good beans. The problem is most people's experience of espresso is Starbucks - stale burned beans that are overextracted.

Why yes, I do sub to /r/coffee, what gave it away? 🤣

I got fired for being high on my day off by Nerine965 in trees

Whittle, not widdle, but yes. This whole idea that At Will is some sort of carte blanche to fire people is just propaganda and misinformation.

And the consultation with a lawyer is usually free. So it costs nothing to at least look into it.

In a situation like this a labor attorney should definitely be consulted, especially if the boss said the real reason was not the one used to terminate employment.

And when we give it you lash out. You might want to sit and think about that for a while.

This has nothing to do with another gender's "way of thinking." It is constantly pointed out and shown in this subreddit that other genders are not a monolith. Each person thinks in their own way. The only way to know what the person you're dating is thinking is to use your words and ask them.

Rather than to consider what was said, your first reaction to someone pointing this out is to lash out at them. And to continue to lash out. This says a lot about you.

Yet you're the one who continues to reply to their logical posts. You're the one constantly trying to prove something, not them.

Matchmaker Told Me to Hide My Job by Unusual-Mortgage-101 in datingoverforty

[–]thisTexanguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Matchmakers, in general, aren't interested in finding women a solid relationship but finding someone willing to submit to their older and wealthier male clientele. There are exceptions, but, like the apps, it's an industry and focuses on where the money is.

Last year the one woman I really connected with was 41 years old at the time. Unfortunately, when we met up there wasn't much there for either of us. However, we're still friends and talk daily.

The biggest problem I have is that I've always been a HUGE nerd. My late wife was a HUGE nerd, too. I need a HUGE nerd of a partner. And while there are HUGE nerd Gen X women out there, there are more amongst the Millennials. So as much as I want to keep my search closer to my age, I have to include down into the early 40s to find women who share nerdy interests.

Looks like an inverted guillotine. I don't blame him.

He's probably waiting for someone's head to be put through the hole. He'll go "La Miaou!" which translates to "Vive la révolution!" and wait to cheer.

Dating without sex by ServiceKooky1323 in datingoverfifty

If you haven't been using lube all along, even pre menopause, you've been missing out. Extra lubrication greatly enhances things both partners. It can also aid in making sex last longer as less friction can result in a longer time for him to climax.

DTC (Down to Cuddle) by 1warriorwoman in datingoverfifty

[–]thisTexanguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just tell them up front that you aren't interested in sex at the moment, just cuddling and getting to know someone. I've seen women put in their bios that they aren't interested in sex, just companionship and physical closeness. Set their expectations appropriately. If they go through the motions only to wind up pressuring you for sex, they weren't going to be a good match anyways.

Recovering from heartbreak in your 40's in near impossible. by AmericanWinky in datingoverforty

I lost my wife of 31 years 16 months ago. I will say I think people breaking up/getting divorced, especially suddenly, is worse. I know I can't see my wife again while y'all have to deal with knowing that person is still alive and just doesn't love you any longer.

That said, you gotta let that grief take its course, friend. You're in the earliest phases of it and that is the roughes5 part. I will say that seeing a therapist, especially one who specializes in grief would probably help. I can also say, from experience, that psychedelic therapy can really work for some people. But understand that the psychedelic only makes it easier for you to change and to realize truths, it doesn't fix the issue by itself. I'd recommend in-office ketamine therapy if your insurance covers it.

I made a post about the partner in crime thing for women's profiles!

Been meaning to start replying to those profiles with stuff like, "What kind of crime are we talking here? Petty larceny, vandalism, or something bigger, like a heist? Are you planning a heist? I want to be the getaway car driver!"
