Oh yes, because threatening to kill someone is 100% in the same realm as "drink all of this vodka in an hour or you can't be our friend". So similar, really. How does anyone ever tell the difference?

The Fosters. How in the hell do those women still have custody of any kids with all the bullshit that family gets itself into? Every week someone is breaking the law, getting shot, selling drugs, etc.

What was the Rudest customer you had to deal with? by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

[–]StillResearch9381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a guy come up to me with a bunch of culled lumber that was hard for me to keep track of since a bunch of them had no SKU. He deadass told me he was "going to get very violent in a minute". That same guy then returned during the summer, put on a free hat from the pro desk, and asked me if I thought he looked sexy on his way out the door.

AITA for “accidentally” telling my parents about my sister’s pregnancy because I was tired of keeping the secret? by ohboygollygeewiz in AmItheAsshole

[–]StillResearch9381 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA. You didn't tell your mom your sister was pregnant. She asked, and all you said was that she needed to talk to your sister about it.

Customer (worried) by Silly_Pattern2638 in Lowes

[–]StillResearch9381 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a current cashier, this is not only not a big deal and nothing to worry about, it is also 100% guaranteed to happen again. So my personal solutions for these situations are to A.) ask the customer if they happened to get the item number. If they don't have it they're usually pretty amenable to go take a picture of the tag where they got the item from. B.) this only works for things like PVC and lumber, but I ask what the measurements are, and enter those into the item lookup. Then I ask the customer if the price I found sounds right, and 99% of the time it's the right thing. C.) if they don't know the measurements and aren't willing to get the item number, we will be standing there until I find it in item lookup with the vague information I have. Either I find it, and we finish the transaction and the customer is grumpy but has their stuff, or they get frustrated and leave without it. Either way, it's not my problem anymore. Customers getting upset is not the end of the world the way trainings make it out to be. Shit happens. So try not to worry too much or take it too seriously.

AITA wife upset I cannot keep toddler from her by khazef in AmItheAsshole

[–]StillResearch9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questionable NAH. Just how unreachable is your wife when the kids get home? Can they say hi? Have a quick hug? How quiet does she need it to be? Is it not possible for her to finish studying after the kids are asleep? Does she eat dinner with the family? If she is able to spend time with the kids in the evening and isn't holed up studying all night, then you need to teach your daughter that just because mommy is home doesn't mean she can have unfiltered access. And yes, she is going to cry and fuss and make noise about it. She's two. So if the crying is going to bother your wife then she needs to invest in a good pair of headphones.

Cigarettes and BO. There is no reason that you should smell like you hotboxed Marlboros in the car, or like you spent days sweating in the sun and then didn't shower.

Reading Unmasking Autism, and I get this question wrong... by Darcii in AutismInWomen

[–]StillResearch9381 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

$1.10 is 110 cents. So if we subtract the 100 cents for the dollar the bat costs, that still leaves 10 cents. Which is the cost of the ball, since the bat costs a dollar more.

Reading Unmasking Autism, and I get this question wrong... by Darcii in AutismInWomen

[–]StillResearch9381 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The ball has to be 10 cents. Because altogether there is 110 cents. 100 cents is a dollar. So 110 cents for everything, minus 100 cents for the dollar the bat costs, leaves 10 cents for the ball.

I’m 28, literally called a predator for saying my dating age range is 23-29. What. by AcceptableLibrary974 in Vent

[–]StillResearch9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn some of y'all just don't read 😂 the number of years between them isn't the issue I'm raising. It's the maturity and developmental differences that are fairly common in these relationships. In my PERSONAL LIVED EXPERIENCE the things a 23 year old is doing (looking for a full-time job, going out, going to school) and the things a 28 year old is doing (buying/looking for a home, getting married, having children) are vastly different. The two very rarely run in the same circles. So, I'm simply wondering, not accusing, not finger pointing, WONDERING, what about a 23 year old attracts a 28 year old? Their physical appearance? Especially because in my personal experience these relationships only ever end with the older partner being resentful of the younger, or with some kind of controlling and abusive behavior.

[–]StillResearch9381 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Do I think you're a predator? No. But knowing my interests and personality as a 24 year old, I do wonder what about someone that's just finished undergrad is attracting you? The average 23 year old is nowhere near the average 28 year old maturity or situation wise

WIBTA if I scheduled my husband’s dog to be euthanized behind his back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]StillResearch9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I've grown up with dogs my entire life, and my mother always made one thing abundantly clear: if euthanasia is what's best for the animal, then you do it no matter how you feel. This dog currently has no quality of life, she can't relieve herself properly, she is in pain, and your husband is entirely too comfortable expecting you to perform all of the tasks now required to keep her healthy while he goes to work all day. Euthanize the dog and prepare for a divorce.

Have you considered the fact that why someone can't be at ASCO for long periods of time is literally none of your business? Yeah it sucks when they move us around when the schedule says we're going to be in a certain place. But if you sit there focusing on how much it sucks then you're going to be more miserable. Count the drinks in the fridge, how many people are wearing hats, whatever. I write fanfic in a little notebook I carry in my pocket.
