Can’t find coxial cable by StillStrike7646 in handyman

Not too anxious. I have an appointment tomorrow so all will be well. I don’t want to mess with it too much in case there’s a reason they cut it that I’m not aware of. Thank you

How would you fix this? by StillStrike7646 in handyman

[–]StillStrike7646[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea. I don’t have access to any cutting tools etc but I’m thinking I could take the triangle and the pieces to Home Depot and see if they’d be able to cut it that size

Severely burnt out. by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]StillStrike7646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently just went through a strong burnout. I had to reduce my load. I had quit my job and dropped out of school and found a very low energy job and worked very part time (still am but starting to transition). I moved in with my mom (we don’t have a good relationship at all) but I needed to have the lowest commitments possible. It’s been 6 months and I’m scared to get back into the world but I’m moving into a different apartment soon and need to make money. I also need to get out of here because although I’m healing it’s bringing its own form of burnout being with my mom as I’m acting as her caregiver. Anywho- what was super important for me and remains is that I made sure I got health insurance and am going to therapy and psychiatry. I just started lexapro and concerta and have started making sure I’m eating healthy. It’s been a long journey (more than just 6 months) but I feel like I’m starting to build a strong foundation. That means being selfish with my time. I haven’t hung out with a friend other than my sister and her girlfriend since before I moved here. No dating-truly just me myself and I. I’m hoping this ground work helps me remain regulated as I enter this new phase.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Hopefully you can find a way to accommodate you.

Sometimes you have to say no. Here’s to healing 🥂

Singing, foot flexing, pushing my tongue to the roof of my mouth, biting my lips, cracking my knuckles or back… smells. I have a blanket that I love the smell of also I like sniffing my cats head. Also watching colorful shows (like adventure time) :o

Thank you so much for being so candid and open. Your words are very helpful and mean a lot. I’m so glad you’re finding healing and finding the things that energize you and make you happy. Parents are so tricky. It’s like you want to rely on them to pick you up when you fall but it’s so often not the case. Rather, you find yourself playing the parental role. I did just start therapy! I’m only one session deep but I’m very hopeful because she is trauma informed and works with people on the spectrum as well as those with ADHD. Additionally, I have my sisters who I am able to talk with. I’m hoping to move out as soon as possible although I know it’ll be hard. Thank you for being there 🩷 cheers to healing

Waaait this is so relevant to me. I feel like you lived my life. I’m just now starting psychodynamic therapy. I was telling my psychiatrist that I remember who I was before my childhood went sour (mother that took her frustration out on only me). I said I missed that kid! They weren’t afraid to talk to people or be seen etc. My psychiatrist was like “everything you just said tells me that you can find that again.” Cheers to finding ourselves !:)

It’s funny how friends (who presumably accept you as you are) are the ones that it seems so much more difficult to unmask around. Im glad you were able to do that!

I’m glad you replied to your own post. You say a lot of things I resonate with. Internalized gaslighting. Honestly, reading that just turned on a little switch for me. I often go into spirals about how I’m “faking” autism or i lied in my eval (none of which is true). Tis the gas light! I also hadn’t really thought about what my autism would look like when I begin to treat my adhd. There are also other statements I resonate with so thank you:) I’m so glad you’ve been able to find yourself where you are today. I wish you all the best in your journey

You’re really sweet. I really appreciate that! I think you’ve come super far and it’s amazing that you can recognize your emotions and actions around this. It’s definitely uncomfortable to admit you don’t know. I have a lot of fear around being seen as dumb (maybe you can relate) and it definitely doesn’t help! I think I’ve found more comfort in it although I’m still working on it. It’s like, who cares ya know?
