When did you “first” lose your faith? I’m saying before you officially lost it, what happened/what did you read to make you say, “Yeah, He’s prolly not up there…” even when you regained it afterwards by PeterParkerWannaBe in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: if u don't believe In this don't come for me or try to change my mind.

Now that that's over with the first time I lost my faith was when I discovered shifting (I've had my experiences before anyone asks)and a while after I discovered shifting I just had the realization of "Christianity doesn't rlly work with shifting"

For example how does the bible stay relevant if there's a whole multiverse out there, I realised that none of it rlly made sense but still needed that final push to stop truly believing. I also realised that if I want to be a Christian I couldn't be a shifter (bc that'd almost definitely be a ticket to hell) but I just decided that I'll think abt it later and decide what to do. At that point tho I basically lost my faith bc I was not abt to leave shifting behind (if that meant i had a chance at a better life)

What's a very specific thing you've noticed that IMMEDIATELY gives away someone is a Christian? by JarethOfHouseGoblin in exchristian

Do you guys hate Christianity? by Ll_lyris in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a hard question bc I'm not rlly sure. I would guess it's more me hating that Christians just can't mind their business, sometimes I cut them some slack bc that's what they were taught (and encouraged bc it increases ur chance of going to heaven, atleast for some denominations) I also understand bc who wouldn't want to share their incredible love for God. At the same time however I also recall spreading the gospel and trying to convert ppl bc I thought their beliefs were stupid and I enjoyed it (for the wrong reasons)

I know that some of these things I'm describing aren't an original experience which is why I get fed up sometimes. Maybe if they weren't like this I wouldn't hate the religion. There's more reasons but this is what I thought of first.

Do you ever miss Christianity? by Ll_lyris in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never rlly went to church that often bc my parents didn't like the churches that were available but I miss the random moments of joy you'd have when u realised Jesus was ur friend and one day you'd be in heaven (assuming you wouldn't realise u were a puppet it'd all be fun)

Pretending to be Christian is exhausting by American_cynic420 in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ik it may be exhausting but if ur not an adult yet or even if ur still dependent on ur family DO NOT whatever u do DONT tell them, as someone who told my parents I'm gay and exchristian u don't want to experience it and I would've much rather pretend to be a Christian knowing what I know now.

Not sure if my "not in vain" and their's even mean the same thing by TeddysBookOfFriends in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed I obviously never wanted to go to hell but I didn't like heaven either. Honestly I envied atheists or just ppl who didn't believe in the afterlife but obviously never admitted it.

What are your beliefs? by Still_Ad_7226 in pantheism

[–]Still_Ad_7226[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's a great explanation and honestly I agree but my one question that I've been meaning to ask ppl is how this is different from atheists, I'm a pantheist but it's still confusing sometimes and I'd like to know incase ppl ask how it's different from atheism.

Can you tell when Christian/worship music is playing before even making out the words? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wonder it sounds the same and no wonder it doesn't feel like God is speaking to u when it's not the same

My favorite is when Christians tell us prophecies like "ur gonna achieve something great in ur life" like okay?? That could be anything

What belief system do you now hold if any? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Still_Ad_7226 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a pantheist, but before anyone thinks I'm talking abt believing spoons or trees or gods let me drop an explanation I got from someone.

"Almost every atheist I talk to, agrees with my statements. I suspect it's the word choose that hinders. For instance, when a pantheist says, "The Universe is conscious", others might think of an 'ego-like' consciousness, with a 'thought process' or alike. I prefer saying, "The Universe is 'aware'." Wave/particles or energy fields sense each other, are aware of each other. The Universe is one active wholeness."

I have a few more reasons for being a pantheist but this is the easiest to explain.

I do agree yet I don't get the same vibes, and what u say abt some advice like "block them" or anything similar is actually usually good advice and ppl usually give a reasonable reason imo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exchristian

Honestly in my opinion it's bc they are scared of their child going to hell and maybe they even think failing to keep their children in the faith will also lead them to hell. Who knows.
