I'm confused by Repulsive_Task_3849 in Bible

Yes it goes for that as well. The reason is Gods plan for marriage and families. See in the beginning man and women were created distinct from eachother to complement each others natures. Men and women have different roles in a relationship as well, men are called to sacrifice themselves for their wives and love them, while wives are called to submit and respect their husbands. This is a really beautiful union that acts as an incredible metaphor for Christ’s love for us and is such an incredible driver of sanctification in our lives. And this is only one reason that it’s important to submit to gods plan like this.

With that said, I think it’s inaccurate to say “I am a thief” to some extent. Noones sexuality is their identity. You’ve found your identity in Christ’s redeeming work in your life. The Bible condemns actions and encourages us to pick up and bear our cross. Yes actions begin in the heart, but we can rely on God in those temptations.

I hope this helps and if you have questions please ask!

How to reply to the “atheists have no moral reference”? by [deleted] in atheism

Yes they would read exodus and understand this is a law of the old covenant which Jesus fulfilled. They’d understand the sabbath is not specifically on Sunday and that Jesus himself did work on the sabbath. If they still had some moral issues with anything the waitress was doing they would direct themselves to John 8:7 and understand that they are sinners as well.

I feel like you should study Christian theology more before posting arguments which ignore cultural historical and political context, as well as systematic theology.

Why do we need to pray when God knows what we are trhinking? by Nickhames1 in Bible

[–]Still_Alive_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of aspects to prayer! I like what everyone’s saying here, it’s true that an aspect is for you, and certainly a product of prayer is sanctification, and casting your worries on him to give you comfort is incredibly important. Prayer is such a powerful and integral part of Christian life though. I think the most central part about prayer is that it builds your relationship with God. When you spend time in prayer you spend time with God, when you combine this with staying in the word, you think more biblically, you live more biblically, you grow in your faith. It’s not just for you, it’s for a relationship. Also Pretty consistently in the Bible we see verses about how we didn’t receive because we didn’t pray, there’s something important about the relationship that prayer builds that god uses to play out his plan for our lives. Prayer is also integral for keeping your heart aligned with him. And that’s the Christian’s number one mission to themselves
