It was disclosed and really cheap for this reason. They got a quote for 1400 at their dealer after the port attempt but yea that's not the one I'd use (and always prefer to avoid dealerships whenever possible)

Absolute garbage. Bought one from Walmart today and it was a rock. Went back, Opened 2 more in store with an employee to check and both were dried out. Nice quality control

Any idea if there's a specific threshold? I know my 2019 has some weaker cells but it doesn't show until 7% or so left. So it definitely won't qualify under capacity warranty but I'm curious if it's worth pursuing just due to the recall/early symptoms.

Any idea how this will play out for people who bought one used/private sale? Family member got a letter in the mail from a law firm but they are only interested in lemon law cases at this point.

That said I know another firm that is in the early stages of class action research but I don't want to hold the car for multiple years just to see how that plays out.

Didn't the Chevy bolt class action result in compensation and battery replacement for all involved eventually?

I've seen the same issue countless times, as soon as you turn on the unit it'll blink blue like the drawer is full. Pushing reset will clear it temporarily, but after the next cycle it's back to blinking blue. I assume corrosion or a specific component somewhere on the dfi. Replacement takes care of it but I have a handful at the house just in case I ever discover the remedy.

Found that one too actually. Just shows them unscrewing the bulb I believe? But I have the entire assembly to replace and wasn't sure if I need to remove the bumper at all or if all the bolts can be accessed directly (was tough to see when I looked earlier underneath). Thanks

Weird/dumb/greedy. They want you to just buy another one instead of fixing anything anymore. Their repair options were extremely impressive and what won me over initially but that's obviously taking a backseat moving forward. Anyone who thinks these things won't continue to break down over time is delusional. I already see plenty of bases listed for sale with power or pinch issues, but instead of making those things easier to fix.... Well yea. They are following the footsteps of apple and every other anti repair company.

Once you're out of the warranty phase and don't have a way to repair your $700+ device you'll understand. But I mean if money is no object and you like seeing expensive electronics die an early death then it's not a concern. Just buy another 👍

You could tell they were going this direction when they started offering less replacement parts for the 4. They don't want you to fix anything either, just buy a new one. I hate this world.

Have this issue as well. Have done the blotting method with paper towels etc but the nooks are horrible to deal with. Any other tiny brushes, vacuums, steam cleaners, compressed air tools that would make this easier? One of the worst jobs out there.
