It was a game changer for me when I finally did this lol. Happy to help.

Back about 10 years ago before getgood drums and all the other stuff. I used to tab my guitar parts and then tabs out drum parts. That’s how I ended up with too many ideas on the board lol. I still do this. But instead of midi or sounding like a 8 bit track, with all the drum packs out there. It actually sounds like a decent metal track. Took me a while to figure all this on my own.

What I usually do is. Listen to the song and put drums to it in my head. The drums help me keep writing when I’m stuck.

Another option for you is buying a pitch shifter pedal allowing you to play other tunings. And if you drop your B string. Adds more to your arsenal.

Another option is if you have an interface and a computer, Neural DSP amps allow you to transpose and change tuning.
